Welp, adding services to Server 2013 is harder than it was in 2003. Can I click a "Be an AD controller please" button and be done with it? May 19, 2016

Need to have Active Directory set up to have secure dynamic updates to DNS. Need to have DNS set up to have AD dynamically update DNS?
I think Linux might actually be easier.

I admin both OSes, linux ranges from as hard (something like Ubuntu), to harder (CentOS) to "oh god make it stop" (gentoo). But the end result is wicked fast.

Wicked fast and small! I have a linux IPAM server (Netdot) in a VM and it only uses about 50MB of memory for the whole thing, OS and all. Peaked at 89MB! It's crazy!

They had two Ethernet cables between a router and a switch, one of which ran underground and didn't pass a cable test.

How do you like your SAGER NP9870? I'm considering to purchase one.

I really like it. A friend has the same thing and said he thought the screen brightness was a bit low, but other than that, he's really happy with his too. Definitely recommend it!

Sent home early as a disciplinary action (missed some end of day reports, fair enough). Don't think I was supposed to be excited about it.
