Hey guys I'm new to the forum so this is my first post here. Recently I bought refurbished Precision T3610(IVY-E) and it came with six core ES(CPU-Z says that) CPU so the problem is that I cant identify the model.It came with X23 bios I have updated it to latest version A11. I tried different software but still no idea which model is ...

Very similar to mine but mine has lower turbo and base frequencies 3.4 to 3.7 not 3.7 to 4.0 Ghz and the strangest thing is CPU-Z says that the model is E5-2687Wv2

Its a 3.4Mhz turbos to 4.0 Mhz(not Ghz), they were $3,000 new.

Looks like the 1650 TRVOW linked above. Geekbench shows it at 3.7Ghz... you say 3.4 GHz... why?

It's a refurbished workstation I don't think that this CPU came from the factory with this machine...

Yeah if cpu-z is right where are my other 2 cores . E5-2687Wv2 have 8 core 16 threads and 25mb cash ...

You could just take it out and look at it. There's various places to look up Q-Spec codes.

It originally came with either an E5-1620 v2, E5-1650 v2 or an E5-1660 v2 and someone though he could upgrade it and bought a used ES E5-2687W v2 on Ebay but the gimped Dell BIOS doesn't support more than 6 cores so it disabled 2 cores. The guy then decided to get rid of it since he needed more active cores and you bought it "refurbished".

Conclusion: You have an E5-2687W v2 with 2 disabled cores, but has @Maban said if you really need to be 100% sure, remove the radiator and look at it.

Nope. the 2687w v2 has more lvl 3 cache.

Based on the model 62 stepping 2 you can tell its a early ES chip for ivy bridge-e.

3.7GHz clock, 6core, and 15MB of L3

2687Wv2 has 8cores and 3.4GHz clock

ES = Engineering Sample

It's not a production chip. Since it is a refurb, my guess is Dell (or someone else) threw one of their early testing ES processors in there. Dell can't sell ES chips but I don't think there's any reason why they couldn't ship them in refurb systems.

No single socket mb currently with 4x4 ddr3 ecc registred 1866mhz

I have to agree with this ^^^
It makes sense that the board supports up to 6 cores, two disabled allows it to run and possibly lowers the cache too.
If it is that processor you scored good value and can sell it to get the appropriate cpu for that board and have change in your pocket.

I'm not planing to sell it maybe I'll buy a x79 mobo after I test it and build another rig after all I got it for 620$ With 16 gigs 1866mhz ,625w PSU, quadro 600, 1TB HDD . I think it was very good deal I have upgraded the hdd with 2 samsung 850 pro drives 256 gigs and now i have to buy only a gpu I'm thinking 1060/1070.
