Correct guys, I agree that just because I have no issues doesn't mean others don't. What I do take away from it though, is that it means it is not a game issue, but rather an issue of some people's systems.

It's not "issues", or bad PCs, it just doesn't look very good even on High settings, and no amount of unconditional fanboy praise and denial is going to change that. The game is obviously overrated by critics, and the user reviews show that.

You make it sound like most users reviews can't be trusted, but it's always critics and fanboys that indulge in hype.

That's just it, you and anybody that haven't play it cannot really say if it looks good on High. You need to play it to see. Otherwise you are seeing a lower quality image.

User reviews from reasoned individuals, yes. Not Steam. The majority of Steam user reviews are from pimple-faced young people who make a sport out of raging. You must be the first person on TPU I've encountered to give credence to Steam user reviews.

I don't know where the hell you get fanboy from...it's the second time you've said it. So, because I (and many others) have a game that runs perfectly fine, AND looks great, that makes me a fanboy?

I think your definition of fanboy is anybody that disagrees with you.

Not when you look holistically at what I'm saying. I'm comparing it to the trailers released prelaunch, and the gameplay footage I've seen since launch doesn't look as good. BOTH are degraded by YouTube, not just the post launch user made videos.

Plus you seem in total denial that it's only getting mediocre scores from those whom HAVE played it means critics and fanboys are overrating it. I know how you cling to games before they launch though, so I'm not surprised you're part of that hype train.

I actually had zero expectations for the game prior. It isn't even one of the main games I've been waiting for, so your statement is just an outright insult, which there is no cause for.

I deliberately form my own opinions on games, which are rarely influenced by reviews, which I normally stay away from until I have tried games for myself.

26 hours in, and it's very good. Stealth is done much better than Human Revolution, but it's lacking some of that soul of the original that Human Revolution managed to capture.

That said, it's quite fun, still, and performs well for me. I've gone up to Very High, and and am still doing between 58-60fps.

Personally I care less about graphics, but mostly on the gameplay. How is it? How is the story, atmosphere and all?
If is half as good as the original Deus Ex from 16 years ago, I'm sold. If not....

I wanted to buy Xbox One Collector's Edition of Deus Ex: Mankind Divided but thanks to local distributor, they not very helpful about that. After that I bought the edition on their site, game marked out of stocks. Then I went to work. I wanted to check the order situation on the site and saw that the order is canceled. I call them, and they said that "We made a mistake about the stocks, and we canceled your order." If I had not check the order situation, they didn't inform me about the order. We have argued about the order in that week. After a while they finally refund my money.

To be honest, this situation is the reason that why I don't wanted to buy this game after release. They are the only provider Deus Ex: Mankind Divided. And I will report this issue to Square Enix. I will let them know and do something about this damn local distributor.

So that's it. I know that you may don't need to know this issue between me and distributor, but I just wanted to tell. Anyway, at least I'm still wanted to buy that game. :D

I can't understand how developers manage to use DX12 and deliver LESS performance. It's like going AGAINST everything DX12 stands for. Which is MORE performance, not LESS.

Anyone with the game who can report their actual results with DX11/12? These graphs look ridiculous - there's a 20 FPS difference between Guru's and CB's DX12 tests.

Because it is tacked on. It's been this way in all the games its been added to an existing game. However....Square Enix doers point out that it is NOT the final DX12 release for the game. That comes on Sept 23. Consider this their Beta.

And what's the point of adding DX12, wasting resources for it, delivering NO extra visuals, DEGRADING performance just so you can say you have DX12 in the game? WHY?!

Good point...that IS the million dollar question! The final will not add any visuals either. I'm not enabling it, since it is running great in DX11 for me as is without going overboard on resources.

I could understand such decisions during transition between DX7 and DX8 where we had massive visual difference due to pixel and vertex shaders. But with DX12, performance is sole reason it even exists. If you don't deliver performance, what's the point? So, yeah, it is a million dollar question.

Worse thing about the game?

Bloody end credits which you can't skip - GTFO Eidos, I appreciate people work to make games but we don't need a lock in on the credit score. Jeez.

It's gotta be 10 mins+ (still running as I type this). Might go for a workout - probably still be on when I finish, thanking the team that led the lead hot dog cart. It's like a bloody virus.

There's achievements for finishing the credits.

Of course, myself, I hate achievements unless they give you an in-game benefit. And if they don't? I'm not sure I could find a way to care less, except that they aggravate me as a waste of developer time, so there is that "caring" involved.

Yeah, achievements don't interest me. Though I did do the full thing without killing anyone but it was a lot easier than the previous Deus Ex.

I'll be honest I've not played it all that much but it feels very much like Human Revolution to me. Not a bad thing as I rather enjoyed HR so it just feels "familiar"

That's actually kind of surprising because it's running on a completely different engine from Human Revolution.

The reference will always be the first Deus Ex, both gameplay and story wise. For the ones that are playing it, how does this one compare with it?
Still thinking if I should buy it or not, but the so far the gameplay reviews are not very reassuring...

Well I have to admit the end credits suck and not being able to opt out of them even after a 2nd play through, but what the heck suffering through them allows you to play a + plus game which kinda cheats you on accumulated Praxis but you pretty much keep the weapons, and that is killer to start out the game with some power and full Aug capability without the overheating.

I think I'm on my 4th play through now exploring side missions and such as that determining what's really important in playing this game.

If I have an actual game complaint it is the attitude in the game against Augs it will wear on you after a while when 99% of those you walk by are cussing at you with their swear terminology they use in the game, it makes you Leary to even talk and some you need to talk to, however punching some smarta$$, will set off negative Police action against you so it's best to ignore them.

The vendors insult you as well even when you buy a lot from them and that IMO could have been done better because when you are in a hurry you don't need a 2 minute encounter just to buy or sell something, dealing with vendors was a lot better in Human Revolution IMO.

I've never been a stealth fan but in some sections it is best to use it, in some sections though you're better off using, If it moves shoot it!

The designers loved triangulated gun fire and you have to be careful you don't walk right into it because your survival is extremely short if you're being hit from various angles, some game setups put you right into that and you have to learn where not to be when it happens, pick your own vantage point.

As far as problems running the game I had a few but since the last couple of patches I don't have those anymore, the key is save often especially right after you acquire something important.

I think I have about 175 hours in the game now and I am still finding things I had missed, as far as negativity against the game itself, I love It!

I'll be honest I've not played it all that much but it feels very much like Human Revolution to me. Not a bad thing as I rather enjoyed HR so it just feels "familiar"
You're right, the "feel" is a lot like HR, however it is slightly off. I've got 80 hours now, with being 3/4 through the 2nd playthru. and I figured out what the difference is.

Despite HR having worse graphics. it "felt" like you were part of something bigger, like a well-done action/espionage movie with a good script. This feels like "Insert Movie Name" Volume 2. Good, fun, enjoyable, but just not quite as good as its predecessor. It just doesn't quite "feel" like I am part of a Oscar-winning movie script like the first one.

Stealth was really improved though, which I appreciate, and no boss fights. Only one, which can be completely avoided/dispensed with if you do it right.

I could understand such decisions during transition between DX7 and DX8 where we had massive visual difference due to pixel and vertex shaders. But with DX12, performance is sole reason it even exists. If you don't deliver performance, what's the point? So, yeah, it is a million dollar question.

The same thing happened when DX10 and DX11 was released as far as DX10 all the capability of DX9 had not been reached yet and some games are still released in DX9, it takes time for the new DX whatever the release to get up to developer speed, not that it is not capable but that the game designers have been working on what they had at the time and it takes years to design and release a really good game.

DX12 will eventually shine but not yet!
