Sony Launches AMD "Polaris" Powered PlayStation 4 Pro

I'm all for regular console updates, worst thing with PC gaming is when games get a lame port and have bad textures designed for 7+ year old hardware

Not sure why people are complaining, for $500 I can get a quasi PC under my TV that handles most of my digital needs, and can even play some games at decent frames\res to boot. Of course its no 5960x w/ a 1080, but at that price, it doesn't need to be.

I'm just going to patiently wait for Sony and M$ to sell me the same game in their store on my pc. The console is a x86-64 machine now with a standard GPU there is no reason I shouldn't be able to play console games on my pc.

This console isn't an awful machine at all for $399. Definitely can tell Sony is still betting on games making money over the console...

you nailed it! if those who buy the console cheap and than pick 2-3 new games (~50$/game) sony will have their investment+profit also

they could even lease the console but money is in sold games

I am excited for this machine, as it provides a performance boost overall. I know my gaming PC is significantly higher in horespower; however, I can not play the games that are exclusive to the playstation. I really do enjoy Uncharted, Bloodborn, Infamous etc. . .

I recently upgraded my living room TV to a Sony 55" 850D a 4k/HDR capable set, and I think the PS4 pro will be an excellent companion. Also, my little nephew who is still on his PS3 will get my launch PS4 as a upgrade. Glad to see consoles take a progressive step with the technology portion, as I think it will ensure that overall we all get the best experiences possible at a reasonable rate.

But can it play 4K Blurays????????????
