Upload the BIOS in a zip file in the thread and I can get one made for you!
I'm not 100% sure my 940 BE is a dud, just not sure I'm doing everything right. A live help session might prove helpful. Course when I bought it on eBay it said new, was opened but realized it was the wrong CPU, needed AM3 due to board, but had thermal paste on it so not sure if that's 100% true.
find out what clocks your ram likes the best and what clock it takes to get it set that then crank the multi. the chips are pretty stable on any multi up to a 230HT
do you find it easier just to increase the multi or use some combination of multi and increasing the FSB?
Yea, just got my loop going, on air at these settings i would see mid to upper 50c range, now the highest ive seen is 38c.
AMD chips scale with temps not volts or anything else your chip will clock higher by about 200mhz if you move to water
Ok, now can I get your opinion on something, with my 940 BE, I can do 18.5x200 with 1.424v in CPU-z, havent tried lower volts, bumped the NB, the HT, and the like SB PLL 1 setting (can get you exact # if youd like), and it will crunch with the cpu at 100% for over 8 hours (ram is stock 800 4-4-4-12 1.9v) for no problems, but no matter what volts i seem to use, or if i do a lower multi and bump the fsb, or just increase the multi, it wont load windows. Now it's been a while since ive oced like i said before, so any guidance you can give would be great.
Does an AM3 chip work on a AM2+ board? I'm 99% sure the other way around wouldn't work since AM2+ doesn't have DDR3 support in the mem controller.
