I bought this beauty today instead of my MSI GTX 960 Gaming 4 G. I think I'm gonna be satisfied with it.

I think you'll be satisfied too. I never had a bad experience with a 970...it's just a great-performing all around GPU!

I thought that green one was a lower power lower clocked version I didn't realize it was limited edition either

@seggbizo Oh, I misread that post. Yes, a 970 is a nice upgrade over a 960 if the price was good. Next step, start saving for a mid range Volta next year.

i concur, despite my limited hate for the 970, i still reckon that GPU as a good allrounder

No, the only difference from the red Gaming Version is the green LED and the Green housing. Otherwise it is the Gaming version with the higher clocks. Oh, and most importantly, for some, this one has a backplate, which the mainstream red Gaming version does not.

Honestly, I wouldn't have replaced the GTX 960 yet if the 128 bit weren't holding it back in newer games, like Rainbow Six: Siege.

I'll probably upgrade to Pascal first, most likely a GTX 1060 Gaming X 6G, or whatever the future holds.

GTX 970 is great but even better with two cards :rockout:

as i have. Sorry cut not resist it.

GTX 970 is a great card for 1080P gaming and you can always get another one for sli later i you want to. SLI with two cards is like one GTX 980 TI or GTX 1070 in performence.

I am deffenly keeping my two cards atleast a year more before changing them.

If I had to choose between a 970 SLI and a 980 Ti, I think I would go with the latter, I'm not really into SLI.

We all have different taste. I stick with sli since that what i have done since 2009 and GTX 285.

Sure there are a few drawbacks with sli like no ekstra performence in games that dosent have sli support, but more or less all the game i play have sli support and those few that dosent dosent need much gpu power any way.

GTX 970 is almost double the performance of a GTX 960 so good choice!

If your looking to get GTX 960 performance get a second hand GTX 670 like I did for $66 ($40 USD)
