System Name My Old Pc From 2010
Processor I5 750 (OC to 160*21)
Motherboard MSI P55-GD65(with out sata3)
Cooling NOCTUA CPU Fan Cooler
Memory Corsair Vengeance 4 GB DDR3 1600MHz * 2
Video Card(s) Sapphire Radeon RX 480 NITRO+ 8GB
Storage OCZ 480G SSD
Display(s) DELL U2412M
Power Supply Corsair vx550
My hardware is:
I5 750 OC to 3.2G
MSI p55-gd65
2x4 GB corsair ddr3 1600
vx550 corsair power
LianLi k55
Toshiba 128 gb + WD 1TB 7200
Dell h2410

Some games are worked fine in the high setting under 1080p. But more and more games are not worked even in the middle setting.
Yesterday I try to play Costar Planet and I found out it can't run fine in the middle setting and the low setting's graphic made me decide to update my PC.

There are some ways:
A: fx8350 + fx990, around 300$ with our future.
B: I7-6700 + z170, around 550$ - 600$ with good(maybe) future but more expensive. And I wanna see the Zen CPU too.
Both A and B can add a Rx480 without a new Power
C: Sapphire NITRO+ RX 480 8 GB. Around 280-300$ and keep my CPU and motherboard, waiting for a good time in future to change them all. Zen or Next Intel CPU in 2017.

So is that make sense or others way?
Thanks

Get the RX480 now, and save up for a new system later, you can re-use the GPU in that build.

People are (those that are going to offer advice)going to want to know your potential budget and your location so as to make recomdations
at the moment its best to just upgrade your graphics card ( bearing in mind upgraded card it may not function properly with your m/b bios which will be non UEFI)

Thanks, I was afraid of it too. And get ready to flash the bios.
But finally, it worked fine when I plugged it at the first time.
I listened UEFI lots of times but don't know what it is

UEFI is a new interface in bios, some old boards dosent like it, if your GFX support it.

So It's like a BIOS GUI. And you can use the mouse instead of keyboard, right?
But what the GFX means?

If you're not gonna go faster than RX480 yes definitely drop it in your current system and see how long you'll last.

Now's not the best time to be upgrading CPU/mobo/DDR, end of Q1 2017 will be a completely different story.

Definitely agree. Maybe I will update my system in Q2 2017.
I think 480 is good enough for me. I don't like play most of FPS games like battle field 0, witches 3 etc.
I prefer similar and strategy games like HOI4, coaster plant, city skyline, xcom2 etc.

Maybe 2-3 years later I can use a cross fire 480 and hope it can work 2-3 years more.
I never tried cross fire so who knows. But my last 5850 worked 6 years for me so maybe it also makes sense for me.

Thanks again

If the CPU does give a bottleneck, a I5 6500 isn´t a bad budget choice.
The only reason why to wait is to gain pricing advantage because of the Zen release.

Most likely in a few months you will select the I5 6500 / I5 7500 or its zen-quivalent anyway.
So you need to ask yourself if the wait of 4-6months is worth the 80dollar save.

Also, please post some results when you can.
I have the same card (OC version)

I am sure the card will perform splendidly

Dont go with the FX 8350. Terrible choice right now and old tech. Zen is just around the corner if you're an AMD fan, otherwise I would consider a Kaby Lake based rig.

Is the result mean performance test?
I will wait, I wanna see how exciting the Zen is. And I think the Intel CPU will be more cheaper.
The CPU is bottleneck now but it's ok.

Yep. Maybe I should change to 8350 2 years earlier. Not now. Thanks
