I Just added the m2 ssd (and a few new case fans) yesterday, and am pretty happy with this PC for now, at least until vega turns up
I was planning on getting some 4000ish mhz ram and a better board to run it on, but that can wait...

I am about to build a Ryzen System, i have a case, psu, ssd's and a (temporary) gpu, i just cannot decide on a single Ryzen specific part, lol
I have narrowed it down to the Crosshair 6 or Taichi, i thought i had settled on 1700x, but now i'm quite tempted by the 1600/x, i'm going to leave the decision on cpu until i have decided what ram to get, the original plan was to use the kit in my skylake, but its dual sided..
16gb Flare x or Trident cl14 3200 kits are really expensive here (£200ish), There are a few gskill and corsair b-die cl14 3200 4x8gb kits available for not much more, and some good compatible 3866-4000 4x8 kits more reasonably priced, i may pick one up and split it between the Ryzen and Skylake systems, and possibly use it later for an x299 system if i end up building one

When Vega comes out i will either get one or a 1080ti for the skylake and move the 1070 to the ryzen, until then i'll be using a 390

I do want to get a new 100/144hz IPS monitor around the end of the year, my wallet should have recovered by then.

Well, my full Specs are to the left but the most important ones for gaming which is all I use my desktop rig for are:

GTX 980 Ti
i5 3570k
16 GB RAM

When I built this rig I planned to upgrade to Skylake when it came out but I just didn't see any sense in spending the $$$ for the performance gain in gaming. Supposedly Cannonlake will be around 15% faster than Baby Cake (Kaby Lake) so that is my upgrade plan for now. If it should get delayed again past 1 year from now then I will just do a Baby Cake build.

That MSI Gaming X 1080 Ti is calling my name even though I really don't need it. I'm thinking that Volta gaming GPUs will be out sometime late this year but Nvidia will probably repeat the same pattern with Volta. Release the mid range GPUs and the Volta Titan and then months later release a 1180 Ti after they scoop up the $1,200-$1,300 early adopters for Titans. I'm probably not going to be able to hold out for that long to wait on a 1180 Ti non-reference card. And yes, I spend too much money on GPUs.

z97 Extreme4
32 GB DDR3 (TridentX 2400)
GTX 960 4GB

Actually I'm quite happy with this. But buying an entry level GPU was wrong, so I will probably get Vega, depending on the lineup.
I would like to spend no more than 500€ for a new GPU and I really had it with nvidia, so I'm really hoping that Team Red will present something nice in that price range.

Currently:
i5 2400
8GB DDR3
MSI H67-B43-G3
Asus GTX660 Ti

Future update, if I could:
Ryzen 1600x
16GB DDR4 2400 or better
Decent B350 motherboard

The GTX660 Ti can stay for now (I would upgrade the rest of the system before this GPU), but if I had the option right now, I'd go for a GTX1050Ti or a GTX1060.
I would go with RX480 cuz most of the time you can find one for $150 after rebate and it pairs much better with Ryzen than Nvidia.
Cheaper and faster a win win.

i'll buy my new board and m.2 drive when my 1800x arrives. I would of gone for the 1700x but I managed to get the 1800x for £330. could be a shady site and I may not receive my order. we'll see.
ive also gone for another aio. Corsair CW-9060027-WW Hydro Series H115i 280 mm Extreme Performance All-In-One . let me know if that's a bad choice.

Case is already heavily modded to fit substantial custom water loop 2x360 1x 120 rad 16x 120 fans

I have been holding out on CPU and mobo swaps for ages because at 4k my setup does not bottleneck as much as you might expect and the rumours of AMDs hedt has that swap on hold.

But i can move on so Vegas next for me then I'll start buying parts for a big swap out, ie ddr4 memory then nvme drive then a crosshair ?Xx then a suitable 12/24 core but all these are addaptable.

I can't wait though because in retirement my Fx system is getting fish tanked ,because i know its thermal performance profile very well i can learn exactly the merits and cons of fishtankin before i build my first proper ground up case using fish tank and some special phase change sauce.
