Hi, guys! I need your help to decide which card should I get. I'm on a tight budget so these are only my options! So in your opinions which card would perform better in newer games considering that I'm going to overclock it!

Benchmark Scores Faster than yours... I'd bet on it. :)
Honestly, id save money for something that can actually game halfway decent at 1080...

Its tough to judge considering you are looking at 3 different gens of old cards.

Of those, not sure what is the fastest (650ti is faster than a 6870 by almkst 20%) but the newest one supporting todays games features is the 650ti.. but, it can barely game at 1080p... only has 2gb ram... not a good place to start.

Save your money is my take.

Edit: 2 months ago you asked the same thing except with 3 viable cards...id go for any of those over these old duds.

6870 is faster than 650ti. If you have to pick from those cards.

I don't know how much are paying for those cards and what is the price you can get on rx 460.
rx 460 is twice as fast as 6870 plus the support for all the stuff.

Rx 460 is also twice more expensive than 6870, I think 6870 is the sweet spot here
Weird....https://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/NVIDIA/GeForce_GTX_650_Ti_Boost/25.html

Shows the opposite at all resolutions...what date was the review you took the screen cap from??
This is the boost version, I'm referring to 650 ti non boost

I've already got the gtx970 that's why I'm on a tight budget xD, I'm asking for a card to complete a secondary PC that will be used for rocket league and paladins

Done! But as I've stated above it's not my primary PC and I'm going to play some light games like rocket league, paladins!
I live in Egypt but I think that there's no so many Egyptians here :)

Boost/Non boost.. doesn't matter.. you said in your fist post you are going to overclock it.....................performance will be at or higher than the boost card bud.

@EarthDog , @r9 , differences between 650 ti and 650 ti boost and 660:

I always though w1zzard was trying to tell us something with this line: "In this review, we test the NVIDIA reference design GeForce GTX 650 Ti Boost. It bears an uncanny resemblance to reference boards of the GTX 660, GTX 660 Ti, and GTX 670, giving you that premium feel inside your rig." Look at how similar the 650 Ti boost and the 660 Ti are. (I think they essentially put a 650 Ti GPU on a 660 motherboard)

NVIDIA's new GeForce GTX 650 Ti Boost adds a strong sub-$200 option to the company's lineup. Thanks to the added Boost clock algorithm, and a beefed up 192-bit memory interface, we see massive performance gains compared to the GTX 650 Ti without Boost. When averaging our performance results, we see a large 26% improvement over the GTX 650 Ti, which definitely makes the difference between "slow" and very playable at 1080p. Compared to AMD's lineup, we see a performance that is 3% higher than HD 7850 and 22% higher than the just-released HD 7790.

The GTX 470 is just old and it's a power hog.
All three are basically tied, thus this thread.:laugh:
If those were my only choices, I'd go for the 650 Ti.

Any chance you can find a HD7870?

Thanks for clearing things up! 7870 is available but it's too expensive for me. I've just found a HD 7790 1GB I can afford that. What's your opinion?

That's BS earthdog. No overclocking in the world will help GTX650 Ti outperform GTX650 Ti Boost. Boost version matters a lot. GTX650 Ti boost has 192 bit interface vs. GTX650 Ti 128 bit. It also runs on higher core and memory MHz. That results in performance much closer to GTX660 than to regular GTX650 Ti. GTX650 Ti Boost is actually faster than GTX750 Ti.

Out of these cards definitely get GTX650 Ti. 2 GB RAM will be enough for 1080P with some effects disabled. GTX470 is horrible.

As for the VRAM I really can't find any 2GB card that I can afford ATM and I need any card even as a temporary solution so if you're in the 1GB section, could you say that 7790 > 650 ti > 6870?

Actually, performance wise, 6870>7790>650 Ti, but I think they are so close in performance that you couldn't tell the difference while gaming.
BUT
Stay away from 6xxx series AMD. 7xxx and newer. AMD Radeon HD 6000 and HD 5000 Series Relegated to "Legacy Support"

Can you find/afford a GTX 660?
GTX 660 is available but its 45$ more expensive than the three cards, unfortunately I can't afford that. Might end up with the HD 7790 especially if it still receives new drives. I also have read that it's come with DX12 support with feature level 12_0! Would that matter at that level of trash? :D

Just save your money and get something half decent. A 660 would work well enough. Even a 7950 3GB would be a good choice but again, save your money.

Also quit looking at 1GB cards. Those are useless and pointless.

Wow.

I mentioned the HD7870. Have you looked for the family tree of it and the HD7850?
HD7790=R7-260X (which has 2GB VRAM)
HD7850=R7-265=R9-270
HD7870=R9-270X

I just have to explain about GTX470 - not only it is limited to 1280 MB GRAM, but it's the second worst TDP'ed video card i ever had after HD2900XT. It was horribly hot and power demanding. GTX600 series sure improved on that aspect having in mind 3 times more cuda core improvement. So another bonus for GTX650 is it's almost non existent power draw.

Actually, performance wise, 6870>7790>650 Ti, but I think they are so close in performance that you couldn't tell the difference while gaming.

WOW. It was not that long ago that HD4000 series were in the legacy box, and now AMD moved HD5000 and HD6000. That's scary. HD6970 is actually as fast as R7 370... To think that such cards as HD6950 and HD6970 are no longer supported is just unfair.

none of those, not a single one of those cards is viable for anything except extremely light duty
and only if you can get them for less then 15 bucks because thats all they are worth
