Corsair Launches Obsidian 1000D Super-Tower PC Case

well with all this PC stuff I use to look and get excited to build something , but now its depressing and just cant see it here . matter of fact I feel this last build I done is going to be the last , just getting too way out for me and a lot of hyped up gimmicky crap 'ol a

I do try to keep my hopes up for something to change more to my kinda liking . [good luck , right ? ]

The interior pic that shows all the fancy, colorful hardware.....the reservoir isn't level and it bothers me. That is all. Move along.

The whole loop looks jank AF. Why go hardline if you're going to have diagonal tubing runs... Too lazy to bend em I guess.

Weight = 29.5kg = 65lbs !!! That's too heavy, and that's without fans and all the other hardware installed! All that glass must weigh a ton - my Obsidian 750D only weighs 9.7kg (21 lbs), with 3 fans. I applaud Corsair for finally releasing a new flagship, but I feel like the days of huge cases are behind us. No longer any great need for 8 hard drives, multiple video cards, elaborate water cooling systems, etc. Except as a hobby, the epeen imperative. I'm getting past those days, and would rather go smaller. Nice case - way too heavy - over 100 lbs. when fully loaded, especially if dual system. Price of fans could cost you another small fortune, at $30 each (the build they show has 24 RGB fans).

Any why have 2 graphics cards if there is no way you can connect them with an SLI bridge?

''guys buying cases in this price range said that they almost always threw away whatever "cheap crappy fans" came with the case ''

see what you just said ? think on that . so why are your better or best fans not in it at that ''price range '' ?

Makes sense for some people. I know a guy who sticks Noctua fans in every slot he has access to.

The case isn't really my personal aesthetic but that's okay. I can see someone getting it. The hostility on here is really thick though. Again, the amount of choice out there is one of the best aspects of our hobby.

.....curious to see what some of the pro modders will do with this.... besides that I have no thoughts on this because i don't see a practical usage for it. Maybe in the future they will release a "mortal man" size of this case.

nice you pointed that fan thing out on it ....

kinda like the guy said above no fans ? whats next motherboard tray sold separately, no standoffs included , and drive bays optional as well ? when you buy a case you expect ready to go not darn I got to go back to newegg and get the fans for it at added cost on top of the case's cost ..

then see there trying to dazzle you with the LED gimmicks , sales hype to smoke screen things as this or any short comings or lack of support , ect .... its now wow cool led's all over it then reality sets in what they find its another week waiting on fans that were not included to get there rig running . I guess you can pretend to use the Commander Pro so you can control up to six fans (DC or PWM), plus any RGB lighting strips or fans you decide you may want to install eventually ,

ya, I'd be one to of took it had fans for granted and ready for use out of its box if throwing a order together , cause its expected ...

seems like they could offer a LED fan packaged case and a non- led fan packaged case . just check the one you want at cart ..

Cases don't have motherboard trays anymore... This is not the late 2000s when I remember every case had motherboard trays.

Also,

No one mentioned that this case can house 2 systems? TPU... that was probably one of the biggest selling point...

''This is not the late 2000s when I remember every case had motherboard trays.''

Some cases still have them for those willing to look: Lian-Li certain models and Be Quiet Dark Base 900 come to mind first.

Thought it looked nice, until I looked at the fan mounts and realized they're pitiful for a case this size. A 300mm+ wide case has no business lacking 140mm fan mounts front and back, or at least an alternate mount position for a single line of 200mm fans.

Disappointed at the fans not being included, but I could still fall in love with this case quite easily.
