In a continued effort to support the PC platform, BANDAI NAMCO previously announced they would be releasing Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown on PC. At the time, there was no mention of what the game's system requirements would be. However, thanks to an NVIDIA blog post, we now know not only the game's system requirements but an estimate on system performance as well- at least with their own graphics solutions.

Overall, the minimum and recommended requirements appear to be quite reasonable. BANDAI NAMCO even went so far as to make note that the recommended requirements are representative of what is needed to run the game at the 1920x1080 resolution with max settings. NVIDIA's own testing backs up those claims with the GeForce GTX 1060 offering a comfortable 100 FPS at 1920x1080, and 60 FPS at 2560x1440 resolutions. Meanwhile, those wanting to push the game at 4K will need a GeForce GTX 1080 Ti or better which should offer a steady 60+ FPS.

Minimum System Requirements:
  • CPU: Intel Core Intel Core i3-7100, or equivalent
  • GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 (Legacy GPU: GeForce GTX 750 Ti, or equivalent)
  • RAM: 4 GB
  • OS: Windows 7, Windows 8.1 or Windows 10 (64-bit versions)
  • HDD: 60 GB free space
  • DirectX: Version 11

Recommended System Requirements:
  • CPU: Intel Core i5-7500, or equivalent
  • GPU: GeForce GTX 1060 3 GB, or equivalent, or higher
  • RAM: 8 GB
  • OS: Windows 7, Windows 8.1 or Windows 10 (64-bit versions)
  • HDD: 60 GB free space
  • DirectX: Version 11

Besides the specifications, a host of settings options available in game were named including Anti-Aliasing, Bloom, Effects, Motion Blur, Post Processing, Screen Space Reflections, Shadows, Resolution Scaling and the ability to uncap the framerate. BANDAI NAMCO also made sure to keep enthusiasts happy by offering settings for flight systems, controllers, flight sticks, keyboard and mouse, and key remapping. In effect, it appears to be a proper PC release rather than a straight console port, which should make flight simulation fans happy.

Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown is available for pre-order on Steam and will release in February 2019.

One game I'm actually looking forward to...

Hopefully I can get my controller to work with it (seems like they have that in mind). While I'm used to flying with a mouse and keyboard anyway thanks to Battlefield, I'm also used to a controller with Ace Combat in particular.

This is one of my anticipated games too. I've been replaying Ace Combat 4, 5 Zero on PCSX2 emulator this past few months. I'm hoping PS2 Dualshock3 sixaxis controller is working with this. I can't imagine playing it on keyboard, though I play Tom Clancy HAWX just fine on keyboard.

Sounds a lot like me, only I've been using a PS3 controller, and I haven't played HAWX.

At least for a while. I played 4 on my PS3, but 5 was a total crapshoot, so I started using PCSX2 instead. That worked pretty well, but I did eventually break out my old PS2 to run those games natively. Unfortunately, I have to use the PS2 HDMI adapter to connect it to my screen, and PS1 games don't like that. While the PS3 didn't have this issue, it also doesn't play nice with some PS2 games (Ace Combat), so now I still find myself emulating... only difference is I'm using ePSXe for PS1 games as opposed to PCSX2 for PS2 games. :banghead:
