Windows 10 October 2018 Update Starts Rolling Out

Well... "Failed to install" on my PC.
It a good start :)

Has anyone tried the new clipbard thing? Can you use the keyboard to navigate between the pinned stuff? That tool alone is pretty much reason to upgrade imo.
Windows+V?

:banghead: just updated to 1709 2 weeks ago, so I am staying with the my current 1709.

Windows+V?

Yeah exactly. Has anyone tried it? I'm not online with my computers so i haven't updated for a year or so, so I'd like to know how the new clipboard behaves.

Just looked at the changes, didn't have time to try it. I'll check it tonight.

LTSC 2018 is also out, replacing LTSB 2016.

Haven't had the first issue with windows 10, rolling the dice as well.

Updated without issues so far. Previous updates failed on me (or won't install at all or gave me errors of some sort) but after a clean install a few weeks back with an up to date build it seems to work better.

As usually I don't expect much out of it. I just want my PC to work fine and to play my games without issues as always.

For those getting failures, one reason might be too full an SSD or Hard drive.

Make sure there is about 30GB free space. Space varies on cleanup for OS and Old Drivers. One of mine was (23 + 6) 29.xx total another was 21 + 3.

Sometimes it is better to run off USB drive than just straight download.

Working perfectly fine here on X99/5930K, X299/7900X, X399/1950X and Surface Pro 3.

Just upgraded my work laptop and desktop @ home using Windows update, no apparent issues on either system.

Same here. I push my updates as far back as possible, so hopefully the "update" is less broken by the time it gets to me.

I agree completely, however... that's what we got... :ohwell:

Nah, Im using LTSB. Gave up on standard Win 10, way too unreliable, prone to crash and so on. Had pretty much zero issues since I switched.

There's talk that 1803 may become the next LTSB version.

I just updated my desktop to 1803, no issues so far. The three older notebooks that I have are stable and haven't presented any issues so I figured that it should be relatively safe to upgrade my desktop.

1803
Download win10_1809_english_x64.iso, mount, setup.exe, download updates, install, restart, cleanup system files using Disk Cleanup. 30 minutes like always.
1809

It's been a seamless transition for me so far. Kind of wish they'd make a new icon set for Dark Mode though.

Never had a problem before with any windows 10 updates, and this one is not an exception.

The new LTSB is 1809 LTSC.

Just use the Daniel K drivers if your not already that's what I'm using on my Creative SoundBlaster X-Fi Titanium Fatality PCIe sound card works perfect
Yes. I was using those until the last Service Pack with no issue. After update, the Hell happened...
Did Daniel K relesed a more recent updated version for those cards?

So, the black theme and the new clipboard are great.

I think my Intel Atom 130 euro tablet getting slower from this. anyway, win 7 is better rounder and includes storage drivers.
Windows do not haw driver pack to download for no internet computers!

The last ones I got from him were XFI support pack 4.0

I really miss the P17X to X-Fi Extreme Audio mod.

LTSB (Long-Term Servicing Branch) was renamed to LTSC (Long-Term Servicing Channel). Windows 10 Enterprise 1809 was also released as LTSC 2019.

In-place upgrade from Windows 10 LTSB 2015 and 2016 to Windows 10 LTSC 2019 without problems.
