I think in every other instance I’ve commented, I’ve read the full thread first, but I really don’t give a fvck right now …
Microsoft has been pummeled, for years, because on Linux (for many users, though there’s some push against that) all your software, all the executables you have, are sourced from a single vendor, the guys or organization that are running your distro. The control is immense and people choose distros based on that fact. Like how Debian is known to mess with stuff whereas Arch doesn’t (they call it staying true to upstream).
So now, Microsoft is trying to achive parity, struggling to put up an equal offering, and all they’re getting is being sandbagged and framed in the worst possible ways, by tech magazines and forum dwellers alike. It’s atrocious.
