Ubisoft has announced the latest installment in the Far Cry series. Titled "New Dawn", the new entry will retain the New Montana setting, with a twist: we are now 17 years into the future (with the baseline being the end of Far Cry 5). An apocalyptic event (a global nuclear catastrophe, naturally) has warped humanity's capabilities and way of living, and we'll get to see an all-new, re-skinned New Montana - it seems tons of pink and purple will make a major splash in this post-apocalyptic setting. Think of how Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon swapped over to a red color scheme, and you get the idea.

Overall, the game makes some changes to the overall Far Cry aesthetic. I'm curious to see how much Hope County has changed with the events that happened in-between games, but I'm slightly suspicious of a game within the same setting and with such a short development time - it's sort of a revisit on the Far Cry Primal formula. The new game drops February 15th, 2019.

The colours look like crap. Postapocalyptic My little pony - no thanks.

Reminds me of a game that was described as a shooter with fluffy everything but it turned out you were on a drug or something.

In any case, Postapocalyptic My Little Pony sounds like a much better idea than A Million Shades of Brown and Grey, A Gun-Slinging Cannibal Story that is most postapocalyptic tales. Actually the more I think about it the more fun it sounds.

So this is to FC5 what was Primal to FC4. For this reason alone I can't stand latest Ubisoft games, they literally take a "safe" gaming mechanic and apply a coat of new paint with each release. Does this make those games bad, probably no, but for me it just makes them look like slightly-more-than-usual interactive demos, literally stamped on the production line.

I'm interested in it. But I really liked FarCry5 and it's story, so I'm interested in a continuation. Though this feels like it should be a DLC for FarCry 5 and not an entire new game at full price. Which is why I'll be buying it once it is available with a discount and not on day one.

Outer Worlds/FallOut/Rage2/Borderlands/FarCry

All these developers may as well just share an office and make one big game together.

They are kinda continuing the story from 5 which I enjoyed.

Also, They are really pushing occult symbolism like never before now.

The most repetitive and boring experience got recycled again, Far Cry Trash.

Fallout....Farcry....

Fallcry....

Fall over crying.....

Yeah it works for me. :-(

Actually, don’t malign all their games. This DOES apply to their Far Cry games. Ubisoft actually released this year what I consider to be right near the pinnacle of single player gaming.

I'm basing this on my experiences with Far Cry and The Crew, AC is out of my domain so yea, shouldn't put them in the same basket.

I totally see this! In fact it’s even worse, because the FC4 layout was almost a copy of 3.

I guess that means we have 2 more games to go based on FC 5 maps.

I'm excited for the game. I don't care how pink it is, I enjoyed FC5 so this will be good.

Sure as heck wouldn't buy the DLC that this should be at full price though lol

I found Far Cry 5 very repetitive, it this is more of the same - no thank you.

I watched it and thought someone had put Acid in my coffee......again

Ubisoft....F**king up games since Tom Clancy's passing and yes I know Far Cry & Clancy aren't directly related.

Meanwhile, I would just love blood-dragon running on the FC5 engine.

Hard pass. FC5 was a total letdown. Cliché upon cliché and so-so open world shooter mechanics we've seen a dozen times. No thanks. I didn't even finish the story, it was so predictable it was almost criminal.
