I just saw this on their front page this morning. That is one big case.

Perfect! I been looking for new NAS case :toast:

I'm already pass the big case era (looking for some nice mATX now), however those look really nice. :)

The original Luxe was a wonderful case ... looking forward to a review.

Exact same for me. Now went with NZXT S340. now have H500, smaller size ATX. fits nicely.

Would love to have this case so my Plex server can be in the same case as my main rig. Might pick it up if I can ever justify spending almost $200 on a case.

They keep putting that fking cutout for 5.25" drives in their cases, what the hell is wrong with them honestly.

Some of us still use 5.25" drives...

I think the front IO is behind that door where a 5.25" bay would be.

Maybe I'm alone, but it's at the point where I find cases that have 5.25" bays to be more appealing. I gotta be able to use my WH16NS40 with any case I get.

I have memory card readers(Atech flash technology) and a 3.5" hot swap hdd bay which uses 5.25" bay and I really appreciate that this case comes with 2x5.25" bay in the box.

According to manual for this case, there is a bracket for 2x5.25" inculded in the box. Although there are no external cutouts which means those bays are only useful for those 5.25" watercooling accesories and not for anything external accessories.

Thats not a 5,25 bay its the front I/O for the case hidden behind a flip up cover the Luxe 1 did the same

There is no 5,25 bays built into the front of the Luxe 2 however you can still fit them if you dont mind a really clunky solution

Dont know if its comes with the case or if you have to buy it but here is a module with room for 2x 5,25 devices which you mount in the front of the case the catch here is since there are no holes in the front of the case the module faces sideways which means every time you need to use the 5,25 devices you have to open up the glass side panel

If you still need 5,25 bays you can fit them but as said they fit sideways pointing towards the glass side panel

Some of you which is like 5%, besides external usb cd/dvd readers/burners exist (same for card readers), which are just as good or better than the internal ones, for the same money, what's the point of using them, if you read one or two dvd in a year? ODD should disappear from any model existent and it's not a matter of needs, it just needs to go, whoever needs that 5.25" slot should better buy external drives honestly.

Aight, didn't notice it, anyway phanteks seem to have a thing for 5.25" on other models, they're the only one still putting that on some of their top of the line cases.

The Be Quiet Dark Base 900 Rev 2 is a top of the line case and that one has 5,25 bays so Phanteks are not the only ones still putting them on cases
There might be other cases only a few years old that also have them just cant think of any other than the Dark Base 900 Rev 2

As for external disk drives why spend the extra money those cost vs internal drives when you can buy a SATA to USB adaptor and re-use an old drive if you have one

I have an older LG CH12NS30 Blu-Ray drive i still use from time to time and since 5,25 bays are no being put on cases i was just going to re-use it with a SATA to USB adaptor since its cheaper than buying an external Blu-Ray drive

Looking on Amazon they are less than $10

Or like i said before you can live with having the drive sticking out sideways inside of the case

The 5.25 bracket is an option you have to pay extra if you need it. So relax all you 5.25 haters it does not affect you. For those with card readers temp & fan controllers it a great option. And yes can even dust off the old bluray collection.

Except the external drive costs as much as case itself, an external drive also occupy some space on your desk. If I've already have an internal drive, why wasting my money buying an external one?

Adapters are fine too, what i mean is internal drives are completely pointless for 2019

Still, i'd like to have a clean front and no useless mounting brackets inside just for 5.25 drives or fan controllers which too are useless in 2019, since you can control by software most of the PC fans, included case ones with modern motherboards.

Your missing the point
There is a clean front with no 5.25 bracket.

If you check older posts in this thread you can see me acknowledging that i mistook that front panel cover for a 5.25" cutout, but my point still stands...Also i don't really like that cover on the front just as much as i wouldn't like it if it was a 5.25" cutout, and it surely can be mistaken for that.

And for people feeling like you, 99% of PC case releases have no ODD bays. The 1% of us left out there still want them. I have a pretty posh Lamptron fan controller, that I enjoy seeing and using everyday. Are you going to tell me to get an external one? or better yet use the motherboard headers and software control them..oh wait, because that goes so well with Asus motherboards and there are like two external fan controllers I've seen in my life. Let us be man. You don't like the case, don't buy it. I for one wouldn't get a new case without at least two 5.25 bays.

You'll have to change that eventually, besides it's not that i don't like the case, it's exactly because i like it that i don't want to see any 5.25" slots/cutouts on it (or on any case) that i'm arguing actually, even if it's no 5.25" cutout in this one, it still looks like one, but my point isn't only about this case it's in general, in 2019, mainstream and top of the line cases should stop having 5.25" slots.

Which is the reason why I am staying with my chassis until it falls apart - which will take a while, cuz... you know... Aluminum....

I am with the "I want 5.25" bays"

You all sound like those people who want to feel alternative at all costs, and even when it doesn't make any sense. Suit yourself.

Oxidized, If you dont like the Luxe 2 dont buy it move on to something else. There are other chasis out there like Thermaltake 900 that also has a 5.25 cage right in the center of cube why dont you go and give them grief?

Perfect for a HD docking station for offsite storage ... or LCD screen if you have 3 ... not to mention those who work for a living and are required to provide electronic copies that fit in a file cabinet
