AMD on Tuesday re-released its Radeon Software Adrenalin 20.4.2 graphics drivers as a WHQL-signed driver. The company hasn't released a driver update since April 21 (the same 20.4.2 as a beta). With no new AAA game releases, there probably wasn't much AMD could do. Then again, 20.4.2 beta came with a long list of "known issues" (new issues identified by AMD that needed to be solved), which could have been fixed in the last 35 days or so. The WHQL is identical to the beta. It comes with optimization for Gears Tactics and Predator: Hunting Grounds, and fixes a handful of issues. Grab the Radeon Software Adrenalin 20.4.2 WHQL from the link below.

Must explain why the drivers are bad, now betas are WHQL.

New drivers reduced my stable OC on my RP 560 lol

Just installed them good so far.

Whqls are paid for lol. They're almost always the stable beta (couple tiny fixes sometimes). Check the dates on whqls and you'll see how old they are.

35 days later and the same driver this is a great joke and where is Windows 10 2004 support ?

Why release drivers for beta OS?

2004 should be released this week or maybe i got some bad info will see, oh and by the way intel released driver on may 6 with Windows 10 May 2020 support.

It was a quasi-joke. The new build will be beta for at least 6 mo lol. Every single release has been full of bugs...even after "fixes".

I don't understand. Why in the end of May they release 4.2 ? Even it be WHQL.

What is the date of this driver?

Good Job AMD Driver team, The next level play:peace:

I don't know what are you talking about. Radeon drivers work on Windows 10 2004. I'd know, I've been running Insider Fast Ring builds for years...

2004 has only been released in the Release Preview channel this month. My bet would be that next month it will be available in the Semi-Annual Targeted channel for those that want to manually upgrade.

Nah, it is already RTM since last month.

Ah, I thought Countryside meant available through Windows Update, since it's not listed in MS docs yet...

And IIRC, Microsoft usually pushes the feature updates through Release Preview a few months before making it available to SAC...

Did anybody else notice they dropped the Pro Q2 drivers for Win 7?

2004 is out and redy to go.

downloading 2004 from windows update on my laptop which is a test machine for builds.

Once I test it and confirm no major issues I will load 2004 on my desktop.

AMD released 20.5.1 with proper Windows 10 2004 support, enabled support for WDDM2.7 and hardware accelerated GPU scheduling.

WDDM 2.7
Windows 10 20H1 (Version 2004) includes WDDM 2.7.
Available in Windows 10 Insider builds starting from 10.0.19041.84.
  • Hardware-accelerated GPU scheduling : It allows the video card to directly manage its video memory, which in turn significantly improves the performance of the minimum and average FPS, and thereby reducing latency. It works regardless of the API used for games and applications such as DirectX / Vulkan / OpenGL.
  • Shader Model 6.5
  • DirectX 12 Ultimate (DX 12.2)
  • DirectX 12 Raytracing Tier 1.1
  • DirectX 12 Mesh Shader
  • DirectX 12 Sampler Feedback: Texture Streaming, Texture-Space Shading
  • DirectX 12 Video Protected Resource Support

Yup this driver is up on the site its a beta though will have to wait probably a month for WHQL version.

Apparently, hardware-accelerated GPU scheduling is not supported in 20.5.1. People are complaining about it on Reddit...
