So after about one year since I bought the laptop, this thing just started to get annoying. In any games, at any clocks, in any load the cpu will just get from 20-30% load to 80-90% and it will drop my frames to 30-40. The heat might be a reason, cuz it's at 95-96 in any game after 30 mins but it doesn't get hotter. Also for the moment when it's at 80% the power draw is max. I reinstalled the bios, cleaned XTU reinstalled windows and anything that I might know about. The fans are cleaned once 2 mouths but I didn't change the thermal paste. So... what should I do cuz the cpu shouldn't behave like this, should it?

I can read on Intel's ARK the TJunktion is max 100c so you are close but not over but is your CPU configured as 35W or 45W?

Because it's a 45W CPU but it can be configurated as 35W: https://ark.intel.com/content/www/u...-8750h-processor-9m-cache-up-to-4-10-ghz.html

What laptop model are we talking about here and is your laptop lifted up from the desk or sitting directly on the desk? Because lifting your laptop up to allow the fans in the bottom to take in better air can help sometimes.

First, the TDP is now 45W. Second the model is the Acer Nitro 5 from 2018 ( at some point I knew the model, but I'm not sure it was 515-52 or something, I'm sorry ) and yes, the laptop is lifted. How would getting the TDP lower deal with my problem cuz at least in my case it runs fine at those temperatures and at random times it just chockes and the fps are dropped to the ground. Also, the GPU shouldn't be the problem cuz there is nothing like weird usage or power usage during gaming.

Also, on battery performance mode, the CPU would run between 4 and 3.60 GHz at all times under any load.

First, the TDP is now 45W.

Does this mean you have unlocked it from 35W if so the cooling in the laptop might only be designed for 35W and not 45W.

a cooling pad may be something to try and a bit of undervolting may help, lappys run warm nowa days but i find thay run better when there under 90c, try throttle stop and maybe -40mv on both cpu and cashe. i knocked 10c of my 7700hq and it now boosts to 3.8 ghz max temp is 78 c, i started with a -50mv to try and lowered it untill it crashed and ended on -80mv. also my lappy has a 48wh battery which is crap before undervolting id get about 1.5 hour web browsing after the undervolt i get over 2 hours

Nah, the cpu was 45 from the start.

I use -140mv on the cpu but I didn't do anything to the cache. This is was I used. I have no clue why it decided to switch to white, but XTU does what it wants. I've tried TS in the past but I'm not sure I am good enough so I won't brake it like the last time.

i tryed XTU but i found throttlestop loads better, i went on youtube and found a guide how to use it and make it start with windows, ive been using it for over a year with no problems at all, i nearly changed lapptops because of the throttling and useless battery but glad i didnt now.

Would u want to send me that video? And also, after I reinstalled again the bios today, the CPU doesn't go to 80% anymore, and when it does drop the clock it's usually to the base clock, when it hits like 96°-97°. So that means that it's throttling at -140mv? I guess I'll try TS. I got another question, which manufacture got the 8th gen right? I have a friend with the i5 that constantly get 100° on a Asus TUF, same story with an Omen i7 and even an ROG with the i7. I'm just curious.

i havnt the vid anymore it was a good while ago, if you do a search on youtube and put in throttlestop guide theres quite a few its just i carnt remember which one. you could be going a bit low with your undervolt and its slowing you system ive never had your processor so dont know the sweet spot and i think -140 could be too much id dial it back to -50 run some benchmarks and see where you stand then go -60 and watch your clocks and power and temp you will see when you get the sweet spot. about 8th gen your guess is as good as mine i dont think any are perfect.

Well I guess the method that would work for me is lowering the clock at 3.6. The only game where I can see small changes is CS cuz it's just from 320 fps to around 305 so absolutely playable. The temps are much better now and I need to thank u for all the help. I will actually change the thermal paste and try again with the 3.9 GHz but for now, stability is something that I'm more interested then the max fps I can get

Those temps are insanely hot. My i7-10875H doesn't even reach those temps when gaming and it's a 8-core CPU.

Idk man, but it's different cooling system, different chassis and different generations. As I've seen in the past few days, the 7th gen cooling was decent and sufficient for the CPU and it's cores, but the transition to the 8th and 9th gen wasn't that smooth.
