AMD RDNA2 Graphics Architecture Detailed, Offers +50% Perf-per-Watt over RDNA

im ok with 400w as long it beats a 2080 ti by 15-20% and costs around $799
I'd be ok with 400W if it beat the 2080Ti by 100% and idle power consumption was less than 10W.

In Germany it so hot in summer, that you need air condition anyway. In winter the i9-9900K and the Radeon Vega 64 Lquid Cooling help heating the room :)
In which country do you live?

That is with Air Conditioning.

RTX 2080 Ti is a 300-watt part. So, you expect 33% higher performance, not double the performance up to 400-watt.

That would have been relevant when the 2080ti launched but not years later. Linear progression is not impressive. Too me anyway.

I would rather compare all the aspects of a graphics card. Power draw, performance, price maybe even value. The 400W is a lot for a GPU. Although if it turns out it is a monster and performs extraordinary, then why not get it. I'm sure the performance/price ratio will not be great anyway.

If 505mm2 RDNA2 chip doesn't beat 2080Ti by 15%, I'll apologize to Raja Koduri.

expected performance of Ampere...but.....at significantly more power usage.
There is no levels to mind blowing fanboi insanity you guys cannot dive into, is there?
You are in a thread about 350W cards.

Please see my all AMD build and then call me nv fanboi.

I judge your posts by their content, whatever you own, be it ryzen or Empire State Building, doesn't change it.

You are posting in a thread discussing 350W card, come into 400W card that is allegedly faster, then claim 400 is "substantially higher power consumption" than, oh wait, 350W.

Navi 21 hasn't been presented, now we have already talks about future third generation Navi 3X.

I hope it will be even a little bit faster.

It has to be more than "a little bit" more than 15%.
This is the first GPU from AMD that supports DX12U, so should be having more significant performance optimisations.

Has anyone got information what's going on with Big Navi 2 ? Performance and launch windows estimates?

AMD Navy Flounder - Navi 22
AMD Sienna Cichlid - Navi 21

AMD “Navy Flounder” NAVI 22 GPU added to Linux patches

AMD NAVI 23 graphics processor gets GFX1032 ID

Thoughts?

That would be today considering he wrote the tweet yesterday/over 16 hours ago.

.... still waiting!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I just hope it's not the Xbox SX announcement. I mean he is from AMD right? If it was a Xbox announcement, that would come from Microsoft not AMD.

Reason I mention this is due to a Reddit thread about it.

Remember, tomorrow is always a day away. He said it himself. Maybe it means we'll always be waiting. After all, it has already been over a year...

I've never seen AMD so quiet about a CPU architecture and a GPU architecture in a very long time. Last time they were this hushed about something was back when the Athlon 64 was released. And for ATI, when the Radeon 9700 Pro.
When many months before Fury & Vega's launch, AMD was pretty vocal about them. We all know how that turned out. They were great, but not great enough per say.
This RDNA2 is a interesting and might very well propel AMD into full stack competition, evening out the GPU playing field against Nvidia. If this happens, PC Gamers are going to greatly benefit this Fall, Christmas & into 2021. :) I hope I am right :D

Figures.... lol.

We got jebaited into thinking we'd hear more than just........... this.

Par for the course!
AMD's upcoming ZEN 3 announcement? AMD Quad FX platform

Yes, I hope Zen3 will surpass Intel and Big Navi the RTX 3070.

Surpass the RTX 3070? Umm Big Navi is suppose to be AMDs highest end GPU, that's quite belittling it don't ya think? Lol

Given AMD recent history its hard to gauge what their card will actually compete with. I think everyone knows they can make a 350W big ass die card to compete with the 3080/90 if they wanted to my issues is believing they would do that over making 3-4 16 core ryzen 4000 chips they can sell for $700+ each with the same amount of silicon.

Difference here is that RDNA2 is a new design. AMD hasn't had a new GPU design in a long time. We will have to wait and see what comes out.
The mainstream market is where the majority of profits & sales come from.
