Gabe Newell who is currently residing in New Zealand has recently confirmed in a new interview that his company Valve "definitely has games in development that they're going to be announcing". With the positive release of Half-Life: Alyx the company plans to create further single-player games and Gabe noted that there is a lot of momentum within Valve to do so.

Gabe Newell has been living with his family in New Zealand since early 2020 when they decided to stay in the country after a holiday due to the countries successful management of COVID-19. He has now been granted New Zealand residency in principle and is actively considering transferring Valve operations and major events to the country. This includes hosting the companies DOTA 2 and CS:GO annual esports tournaments which had to be canceled in 2020 and "strong interest" from employees for relocation.

Teasing again? I might already dead before I can play any Half Life sequel.

Look at me, we're still relevant says Gabe.

I'd go as far as to say that if they are developing singleplayer experiences that is NOT halflife 3, they have lost their minds, but then again so de the rest of us waiting for half life 3 many years ago...

Yeah.... I'll believe this when I see said game(s) actually released, not before. This is Valve, I don't trust them about anything.

Mike Shapiro (the voice of the G-Man and Barney Calhoun in the Half-Life series) already hinted at this about a year ago.

Gets hit with 7.8 mln euro fine - "We have multiple games in development".

Source 2 + Gordon Freeman = Half Life 3!

that's funny but really it's chump change for them.

Praise be our lord and savior GabeN...

I certainly look forward to seeing what this New Zealand based company will do.

Despite the storefront being his cash cow, I think Gabe just wants his legacy to be remembered as “game developer”, not “game store that used to actually make games 20 years ago.”

You say that despite "Half Life: Alyx"?
Yes I do. I said when it was released it was a niche product and it still is. Adoption rate is still very low and limiting the game to only that market limited both sales and its impact.

That's not the point of it.
It's just the push the industry needs.
That's I guess why it's not a very long game.
In one stroke they showed what's possible with both VR and their new Source 2 engine.

Before you make/release new games how about fixing older ones like the complete mess that is Dota 2.....
