bit-tech.net reports that ASUS has named its next Intel X38 based Republic of Gamer (R.O.G.) motherboard the "Maximus". In the same manner as the previous ASUS P35 Blitz board, there will be two models to choose from: Formula DDR2 and Extreme DDR3. No word yet on features, cooling or just about anything other than a name and the availability will be "early September".

I can't wait to see what these X38 boards can do. I'm very interested in getting one.

Me too as well. I have the P5W DH Dlx and I am really looking forward to this and the X48 as long as the price is not to rediculous...

me too i'm thinking of doing a major changes to my rig i have p5wdg2 ws pro

You can expect the board to be $250 or more. But for all the features and badassness of the ROG boards, youd expect it to be that high. Also, can I just say, they have some slick naming schemes for their MOBOS. Maximus, General of the Roman Armies!

I have the feeling that I am going to be spending some serious money in the near future if the benchies are good.

hope they get vdroop worked out that would suck if that crap still showed up in these new boards
