AMD Ryzen 7 5800X3D Retail CPU Gets First Independent Tests

My 5600x current does 1602-1610 in single thread on PBO and I'm only running 3,200mhz ram with timings 16-18-18-36 (73) in T1. My highest is just a bit over 4,860-4,870mhz in single thread.

AMD Ryzen 7 5800X $319.99

Intel Core i7-12700 $319.99

Appreciate it. I'm building for longevity, this will be the first build for myself since my fx-8350.

If this is your first build since the Piledriver days, then the Intel platform is the better choice. If you can wait a few more months, then you'll have an AMD option as well.

I agree Zen 4 will probably also cause price drops on ADL so waiting is a better idea.

But my new $180 Intel 12400F CPU with an easy 5GHz overclock do comfortably more scores,

if only cinebench was meaningful for real world applications. Do you use the software that cinebench is built on? If so then yes you have a better cpu but if not all you are doing is willy waving.
This.

Do people play cinebench and geekbench all day?

Real world application performance matters more.

Do people play games all day, general use stats are more important than gaming ones, unless you game 24/7.

Sometimes i really think R23 and other bench scores are more important to some people. I tested my 12700k once on R23 and geekbench.

Fix your quote. And I believe it was done to highlight the differences. Obviously we will need a full review covering more games and different resolutions. And it should be obvious to anyone the gains will be smaller the higher you go into gpu bottleneck territory.

To be fair, for some, like cruncher's it's actually a thing.

My three are either loaded up with work or on occasion not, but rarely, my main rig does week's between reboots and is always on the job.

Going to leave this here

12900k - 190 fps
12900KS - 200 fps
5800X3D - 290 fps

Confirmed test done at 720p

Look closer at those results.

The top of the screen shows 228FPS avg. on three runs, at the bottom it shows 244FPS avg, and your 290FPS number is what's currently displaying on the screen, not average.

The 228-244 FPS average would be in line with AMD's claim. (15-20% increase).

I could be wrong but I believe Intel 12 gen boards will support Intel 13 gen cpu's.

Good thing I didn’t sell my 5900X to get this like I was going to a couple of months ago. They lost me at reduced clocks and no oc.
Yeah I was thinking no problem with the no o/c but didnt know they reduced the clocks.

Single core Cinenench R23 (by my opinion most indicative of gaming speeds here) is crap, slower than stock 5800x. Something must be wrong, or this won't beat the 5600x in gaming.

AMD has specifically said it basically only offers performance uplift in gaming...and I've never once heard anyone claim cinebench is an analog for gaming performance

AMD: Here is a cutting edge sports car!

Reviewer: Okay, I'm going to go buy some milk.

I've been known to game 18hours at a time.

FTFY!

If PBO+200mhz doesn't work how am I hitting Single core clocks of 5.05Ghz with it on? And I also happen to be using 3200 CL 14 Samsung B die 4x8 dual rank!
He is a troll is why.

yeah, in most games will be similar big difference, because not really needed yet 8 cores. But even where needed 8 cores intel 6 cores faster than 8 amd. Core speed what matters is and everything is more spontaneous. I did my upgrade from 5800X to 12400F and earned money with it :D

Pretty based move ngl bro, not everyone can do that

Since when is Cinebench a gaming benchmark?.......

quite funny to see AMD supporters downplaying it after a few years when Cinebench was the best test available :D
Cinebench is not a synthetic benchmark. It's based on a real engine. It isn't valid for everything, but it is a good indication about real world performance.

Umm no I have never cared for Cinebench or Synthetic benchmarks. And I would refrain from labeling people you don't know supporters when I own system from both vendors.
