TechPowerUp is Looking for a Content Proofreader

TechPowerUp is looking for a content proofreader with a strong command of U.S. English. This is a remote, part-time position, the job entails proofreading our written content, like reviews. The position is paid and open worldwide, expect 1-2 hours of work per day, Mon-Fri. Besides excellent language skills, it's a big plus if you understand the topics we're writing about. No need to get all the technical details, but it will help a lot if you know the difference between Mb and MB, NVMe and SATA, and can catch other similar mistakes, in addition to spelling and grammar. We're looking to fill this position by August.

We actually use aluminium in our reviews btw. It's the preferred IUPAC nominclature after all, despite aluminum being adopted as an alternate recently.

Well, in addition to this dispute between US English and UK English, they may be interested in the "International English" of those who write natively in Portuguese, and have knowledge, in addition to English, of Spanish and Chinese. Who knows...kkkk

I'd be glad to get more British English here as well. I continue to write "theatre" and "behaviour" instead of "theater" and "behavior". There's some nice aesthetics to British English.

Megabit/Megabyte, I guess. Motherboards are rarely abbreviated to MB. Mobo is a lot more clear and used more often.

No, he wrote me a lovely way to convince my Mrs to let me have a new fan or whatever and it looked like it got pulled from a dictionary! Shrek deserves the post!

I am kind of interested in this as I would have time soon. Though I am not sure if my English is at such a high level. I can't quite explain how grammar works aside from it feel right. English is language have so much weird rules and exception. I remember going through a writing course and I have to select the correct structure with different variations.

Related to being a tech editor. DO NOT just run it through Grammarly. It will fuck up the text even more. Fine for checking, but not blindly copy / paste. I worked with a editor at a different place (will not name) who just copy / pasted the whole review into grammarly and called it good. Yeah I always had to go back and edit the editor...
