NVIDIA today released the latest version of its GeForce graphics drivers. The company released the GeForce 545 series drivers, a huge jump in version numbering from the GeForce 537 series. The new drivers extend NVIDIA RTX Video Super Resolution 1.5 technology down to even RTX 20-series "Turing" GPUs, besides the current RTX 30-series "Ampere" and RTX 40-series "Ada." The technology is a high-quality video upscaler that uses some of the upscaling techniques borrowed from DLSS feature-set over to video. The drivers also add optimization for the latest "Naraka: Bladepoint" patch that introduces DLSS 3 Frame Generation, as well as "Warhammer Vermintide II" DLSS 3 update. The drivers add TensorRT acceleration for Stable Diffusion. The drivers also add GeForce Experience optimal settings for over a dozen game titles. Among the issues fixed include a random black screen flicker seen on displays that use DSC (display stream compression), and incorrect monitor colors when returning from display sleep.

This driver seems to introduce an issue with HDR. SDR videos don't adhere to the SDR brighntess limit anymore and are now much brighter.

Im having exactly the same problem with videos using HDR with this version! Any workaround?

This a is a pretty bad driver. Scrolling a video that is playing on YouTube (SDR video), the video becomes darker when scrolling in the Chrome and Edge browser, when I stop scrolling it gets brighter again, doesn't seem to effect HDR videos. HDR turned on in Windows 11 23H2 and 4090 running on an Asus PG43UQ, 5800X3D and 64GB DDR4 3200 (4x16GB).

Also web browsing and even dragging windows about had the odd stuttering even at 120hz, sort of felt like vsync was off everywhere on the desktop or like the UI was being CPU rendered, UI rendering just looked choppy. Installed 537.58 over the top and both issues were gone immediately even without a reboot. Really needed that black screen fix as its one bug that's been around for me for about a year and a half, took them this long to fix it but 545.84 is pretty buggy when it comes to streaming video in a browser and even web browsing or dragging windows around. Haven't encountered a driver this bad in a few years and I install every release version.

This is chromium behavior when presenting into a multiplane overlay, not sure why you're only noticing this now.
You can mitigate it with the systems SDR brightness slider. No you cannot, because Chrome in their infinite wisdom has introduced a new feature called TrueHDR support which is reliant on a capability exposed by RTX hardware in the R545 or later drivers - The hardware now Tonemaps SDR into the HDR range, this disengages when you scroll as mentioned because the overlay falls back to software until you stop scrolling.

I know about that bug, this is a new issue introduced in this driver and there are others on the Nvidia forum saying the same thing, this driver is just buggy. It has nothing to do with the system SDR brightness, if you scroll YT as an example playing an SDR video with this driver its extremely obvious and it's not present in other drivers. SDR video blacks are crushed when playing, scroll blacks are fine, stop scrolling blacks are crushed again, there is multiple users reporting this issue since 545.84.

Just look for the HDR, SDR brightness issues in this driver, plenty there. https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/geforc...ce-grd-54584-feedback-thread-released-101723/

Seems to have broken something with THPS 1+2, getting 50-60fps with a 3090 in 1440p with 1 major drip down to 1-5fps for 10 seconds or so, the prior driver was 144 fixed.
