Diamond xDNA Allows CrossFire on Any Chipset With Any Cards

OK just letting you know what one of the ____ guys told me.

I am on a sponsored AMD team:)

Apply for a job at the inq ;)

The article doesn't say if xDNA is a software based solution though. In fact if it is it would probably work on any card (BIOS flash would be enough probably). They might just use some additional chip/bridge or whatever.

I'm talking driver wise.

Their cards will be more that the flash like you are saying,(Tha'ts a good guess) with the soft burned in instead of drivers from AMD.

Then it might just work, in fact if it gets released and it sucks balls they'd just give their company a bad name.

I'm sure it's all software driven and as shown in the past = less performance.
Don't get too excited or Nvidia will come to castrate you.

it could be done in hardware. instead of merely using a connector cable between the cards, they COULD actually stick an ATI crossfire chip on the cable - more expensive, but works on any mobo.

so Nvidia chipset based boards should shoot through the roof now. Not sure if this is a wise decision or not...

well if Nvidia Follows Suit along with Intel then its a Win-Win for everyone.

so is this xDNA out yet? and if it is, does it work?

Does xDNA enable crossfire on a 945GC board?
