This new Triton 77 incorporates innovative features that include the up-way air flow technology, high-density fins, dynamic fan speed control and pure copper heat pipes to deliver efficient heat dissipation for the latest quad-core processors. With its lightweight and compact cooler size, the Triton 77 is also compatible with a wide range of motherboards and chassis.




15% Enhanced Cooling Efficiency with Up-way Air Flow Cooling Technology
With ASUS' innovative Up-way air flow cooling technology, the Triton 77 provides up to 15% enhanced cooling efficiency by rapidly transferring heat directly from the CPU and dissipating it out from the chassis with the case fan. Additionally, it also carries the heat produced by the VRM (Voltage regulation modules) surrounding the CPU to reduce their temperature by
10-15˚C for system reliability and stability.

AMD and Intel Multiple CPU Support
The Triton 77 CPU coolers support Intel Core 2 Quad / Intel Core 2 Duo, Intel Pentium processor family, Intel Pentium 4 HT/Celeron D CPUs, as well as AMD's Socket AM2/940/939, AthlonTM 64-FX, AthlonTM and SempronTM processors. It also adopts a PWM function fan that can automatically modulate fan speeds according to the CPU temperature to deliver quiet operations at a mere 18 dBA.

I have a Thermalright SI-128 whose design is similar to this and I've experienced better temps with the fan blowing down rather than up. The extra airflow on the mb cools down the mosfets and the overall cpu area much better.
 
I'm not a believer in that either. It means that you have to cool the processor with the hot air emanating from below. More you overclock the hotter it will get and performance can't get better. Stock it might work, or there wouldn't have been a reason to make it upside down.

I dont see how this dont work. Most coolers have a fan on top sucking up the heat and blowing it out in the case towards the top. I havent bought a cooler stock and it had a fan blowing down, that I know of. Of course, I could be wrong on that. I think this is an awesome cooler, with 5 pure copper heat pipes and them fins, should make for a helluva clocker.
 
i wish they would have made the top flat so you could easily add another fan to it but ohwell
 
looks like the base of the hr 03 with a tower mounted sideways...

fan underneath? doesn't sound like a good idea. you'd just be sucking in mobo heat
 
funny thing about those new asus coolers that they come un-assembled, so you have to assemble if for your setup.
