NVIDIA to Focus on Triple SLI

Unless your using your setup for industry purposes, there is no need for having more than 2 cards (for any purpose).

So this basically means the 8800GT supports triple SLI? I thought you needed a card with two SLI connectors to get 3 way SLI...

Do existing 680i mobos with 3 PCIe connectors support this or will only the new 780 mobos be able to use this?

I don't see why ppl are complaining so much... Mobos with 3 PCIe slots have been around for a long time, and even AMD is promoting 4 way Crossfire setups... If you have the moneybgo for it... Even though on second thought, this would kinda be like the Hummer or H2 of PC gaming as far as energy consumption is related :p

I am happy NVIDIA has logic and understands that we don't have 8 PCI slots, and cannot do 4 x 2 slot coolers... thats why you do tri-sli, and single slots coolers.

Hey PVT

4 slots that you could use with dual slot cards

Am i the only one thats starting to think we're going to have to figure out something else other than dedicating half your computer case and 3/4 of your power to nothing but video cards.

nah id say they are smart, they know for a fact the sheep will buy it regardless even if they dont have the software to utilize the hardware. I just find it a shame that so many people give them a reason to slow down the progress and create stupid money generating schemes like this.
