Pixel Pro 9 XL, up from a P8P previously, not a huge upgrade, but it has a bigger screen & slightly faster CPU, which should hold me another 1.5-2 years
Got an AOOSTAR N1 PRO mini PC, for when I don't need the power of my gaming rig or need to bring a PC with me. It's 12 GB ram and 1 TB SSD and fits in a jacket pocket.

I think I might order a 9800X3D today from Amazon. Switching to AMD will be quite a thing as I have been on intel since C2D but it seems intel is done for the moment.
I have really enjoyed my z690/12700k setup but time for a change. I should get something back from my intel setup though I guess.
Their on bleeding edge right now with Foveros and Tile/Chiplet design..but they are still performant (also considering Raptor and Alder Lake performance)..IMHO
On the other side of News I just got an expensive piece of crap:

Done in the sense of losing out to AMD at the moment. I have nothing but good things to say about my 12700k setup which has been so stable for 4 years. My comment was not nonsense imo. Intel are not leading the field at the moment. Still hoping they can pull it out of the bag but decided to give X3D a try as I mostly game anyway and it might give me a bit more oomph from my rtx3080 till I can upgrade that. No doubt the gaming performance of the 9800X3D is better than the 12700k so it should be an interesting jump.
Made an upgrade for my music as I found a dream amp (2nd hand):
(Not my picture, just one from a random add found online)
It is a ML 532H and it is like I now have a whole new music collection, everything is more dynamic, precise and airy - even the neighbors get to enjoy it
As I said. Over here we have the legal right to rip for personal use, and we even pay for that right*, but we do not have the legal right to bypass copy protection, which is what all media has had for the last many years.
*meaning a part of what we pay for any kind of digital storage goes to an organisation that distributes it amongst various rights holders
i thought why not :
Polaroid Go Gen 2.0 set plus 3x16 additional film
the set was a "confirmed return" open box for less than 50chf instead of 79.70chf (heck the camera alone outside of a set is 69chf )
found a Paramita bone conduction headset ... in the lost & found bin, no charging cable ... no matter, compatible cable are less than 1.50chf a pack of 2
(the cable work perfectly )
Bought the entire delid kit (Price is in AUD). It aligns with De8raurs 20-25C cooler lots of room to tweak the below results, although strangely idle is still horrible with Core Performance Boost On. Used to hit 90C in prime95 at 4.6 effective smallest FTT. Now it's 5.2ghz-5.4ghz at mid 70s lol. I removed the indium with a razor blade to reduce the chunks and then used Liquid Metal to fuse/dissolve the indium which allowed it to be scratched off with my nail. Then polished it using thermal grease which worked surprisingly awesome.
A Creative Pebble X Plus discounted at USD$~120. Gutted that I missed an earlier discounted that goes as low as USD$~85 by a day and a later further discount that goes around USD$100.
This is to replace a set of Creative Katana V2X because I bought the Katana only because it looks cool and I have the genius idea of putting a soundbar on a very space limited desk in front of a monitor stand taking too much space /s. And no, my desk can’t use monitor arms.
The Katana V2X is already overkill that I only need 30/100 volume. It has more features and power than I need. Probably too much for my room. Though the “adjust the sub by X dB” function should have been available for all sound systems with a sub.
Also, in my brother's words, "HAHAHAHA there's no way a soundbar that large is engineered for your small room" even though it is marketed as such (though I do need a bit more distance to get close to the marketing photos).
The Pebbles lacks a lot in features by comparison, but its performance is more adequate for the small room I’m living in. And it sounds much clearer when playing podcasts. I would say it sounds great for its size. I think I would prefer the Katana for usages other than podcasts for now though.
Also accompanied by a pair of angling things that makes the Pebbles point to a more correct angle for my setup.
The Katana will probably be repurposed to use on a later build more focused on racing and in a much wider living room, I guess.
I first plugged the Pebble on a USB hub that might have a messed up power cable. It sounds like utterly underpowered crap in general and have random crackling noise only when playing YouTube videos with or without proper PD power input.
I plugged it into another properly powered hub and there’s no crackling issue and audio quality is much closer to what I’ve expected.
I fixed the power cable on the first hub, plugged the Pebble back in, and no crackling issue either.
The crackling is definitely because of the bad power on the first hub. The audio quality could be a break-in thing. Could be my ears getting used to the new speakers. I don’t have a good answer.
Also, I have to reinstall the Creative App because somehow it kept crashing.
And a free 2x8GB RAM upgrade from my brother who went from a 5800X3D to a new 9800X3D build. Not exactly using the sticks to full potential because subtimings, but no further config needed and no performance penalty for mixing 16GB and 8GB RAM sticks.
That 5800X3D might or might not be reused in the more racing-oriented build mentioned above. I want to go small with the build if I actually go with it, and I might want a 7600 partly because low heat output. 7600/9600X3D when? And a few Zigbee gadgets (not photoed) in an attempt to make sure I don't forget to close my apartment door. Haven't got the time to actually config that though.
Some feedback after my purchase of GameMax Spark/ Chieftec BX-10B-OP/ Jonsbro D30. I posted quite enthusiastic, but never really came back in the "Your PC" thread. Unfortunately I don't have a picture at the moment, but this is what happened. I did built my PC inside only to find a glaring issue, which somehow wasn't stressed enough in any review I've seen for this case. You can't really have 3.5" drive and another two 2.5" drives inside this case. You see, there are two cables from the PSU with sata cables, only the last connection is flat. Every other along the way is 90 degree. It is literary impossible to connect the 3.5" drive on the bottom when you use the same cable to power another 2.5" drive. I dare anyone to try and power four drives in this case with the two provided cables from the PSU. Since I have three spinners I gave up on the case and gave it away to a family member. It is a case for gaming....and NVME drives. May be one HDD. Also for your info I did install a slim 120mm below the fourth slot with a sound card installed and it was successful, (info you find anywhere else), since I tested. I will take a picture of my family's member's build and you will see that. Just my 2 cents if someone else is considering these three cases.
Because my wireless keyboard / mouse USB receiver and thumb drives, while using USB 3.0 connections, tend to hate one another. I will try the KB/Mouse on USB 2.0 ports, but require one of these.
