NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 Ti SUPER Planned with 24 GB of GDDR7 Memory

We have already covered that NVIDIA is planning a SUPER refresh of its GeForce RTX 50 series GPUs, with the most recent leak revealing the GeForce RTX 5070 SUPER, which is expected to feature a slight increase in CUDA core count and 18 GB of memory. However, NVIDIA is also overhauling its RTX 5070 Ti with the SUPER treatment, now enabling the RTX 5070 Ti SUPER to feature as much as 24 GB of GDDR7 memory with no change in CUDA core count. According to kopite7kimi, the RTX 5070 Ti SUPER will feature the same 8,960 CUDA core configuration as the GB203-350-A1 SKU, based on the PG147-SKU55 PCB. The only difference here is the VRAM surplus resulting from an additional 8 GB of GDDR7, which totals 24 GB capacity, compared to the 16 GB now on the regular RTX 5070 Ti SKU.

This also changes the TBP of the card, where the RTX 5070 Ti SUPER GPU is now rumored to feature a 350 W TBP, an upgrade from the non-SUPER's RTX 5070 Ti, which has a 300 W power rating. Perhaps the extra power is dedicated now not only to more VRAM (which is also a power consumer) but to higher clock speeds, too. It wouldn't be sufficient to call it a SUPER variant without some raw compute increase, so NVIDIA might be selecting better die bins for the SUPER SKU to enable higher default clock speeds at only a 50 W TBP increase. Nonetheless, we expect to hear more details in the coming weeks, especially since the wave of rumors has started to flood social media and leaks are becoming more frequent.

Raising the TDP extras 50W to 350W, has been shown not to help much with higher fps.

I have actually decided to do the opposite and under volt and overclock. Results is much more interesting ~250 W @ 925mV - 950mV and clocked to 2850 - 2950mhz

Remember, these can be used for compute, that is probably why they raised TDP.

I have seen 400w board power with my 4070Ti.

Not everything goes "Higher" = "Better" you know ?
^That's the mentality that brought us 600W TDP GPUs...

Aside from that, early adopters will be stuck with lower VRAM capacity (as always).

Roughly 4080 performance at roughly the same price three-four years later but now with extra 8 gigs. Hooray, yay. If Huang swindles EU into spending $$$ on "Sovereign AI", extend that to 5-6 years I suppose.

So now after they've had all those mo $$ than brains Suckas out there getting milked for Uber-expensive 90xx and the mega-expensive 80xx cards, NOW they come out with this variant, which will only serve to clog up the sku assortments even more :)
 
I've said it before, the most Urgent GPU for nGreedia to give the 24Gb Treatment to is the 5060. With 12GB of RAM it would actually be worth buying
 
So the 5070 and 5070Ti is a bad buy now since we will get better cards in like 6 months?
Waste of money, just make a 5070 Super have 16GB (256-bit bus) or 18GB (if 3GB module rumor works out).
5070 Super is rumored to have 18GB vram(3GB modules) with 192bit bus.
 
Looks like NVIDIA is repeating the same purposefully confusing segmentation of the 70-class cards as well as their lower end offerings.

We had 4070, 4070 GDDR6, 4070 Ti, 4070S, and 4070-TS, and now we have power-juiced Blackwell successors to those cards with the same naming scheme.
Wouldn't expect anything more from NVIDIA, gotta keep screwing consumers!
 
I believe all GPUs should have 16GB - 32GB period! VRAM isn't expensive and this should NOT be the limiting factor in any game.

So this likely means the rumors of the 5080-24GB lean toward being correct. I can't see NVidia doing a 24GB 5070ti and not a 5080.

Your belief does not reality make.. They are in fact very narrow and exclude entire market sectors. From a business standpoint, that is just terrible thinking.

Its a pretty shocking "Super" upgrade. No extra hardware even though its available on die and a small bump in RAM on a GPU that is questionable if its going to be able utilise it fully beyond AI work.
 
Greatest deal it may not be, but it is the first GPU with 18gb of VRAM, so there's that!

Just because VRAM isn't expensive doesn't mean all GPUs need 16GB or more.
There are valid arguments for equipping a card with only 8GB or 12GB if you can justify the use case and the price, since there are plenty of purposes for GPUs outside just gaming. The underlying problem isn't the amount of memory they're given, it's the way they're marketed and priced.
 
I was actually very surprised the 5070Ti didn't come with 20GB and the 5080 with 24GB, then I remembered, the supers were still on their way. I just didn't think the 5070Ti Super would have 24GB. Not bad.
 
From what I've read the required 3GB GDDR7 chips weren't ready in needed quantities for the 50 series launch, so it makes sense to refresh and satisfy the enthusiast market with some +50% VRAM Super cards.

Don't see 16GB being a genuinely limiting factor on 5070-through-5080 parts for a while yet, but this should satisfy those who actually need more.

Then there's a difference between what people think they need and what they actually need and will benefit from, but that's perhaps another topic altogether.
 
Err, I'm curious: why would they do this for the 5070 Ti and not the 5080? Wouldn't you want the 5080 to have more VRAM?

True. While there are some games that are pushing that limit, none are having performance limitations due to it.
