Still no specs yet unfortunately, but AMD is showing off its Radeon HD 3870 X2 graphics card at CES. As you can see, the card has been installed in a system, which would suggest its working - to some extent at least.

Very Nice! I wonder what the price will be

thats huge! look how long it is!

i would guess double the 3870 card.. but prices for flagship card are based on what the market will stand.. i recon they have the cards ready need just need tweak the drivers to make it go as well as they can..

no point in letting it lose till the drivers are tweaked..

trog

ps.. its one inch longer than the single card..

really? wow i really need to get things into perspective

not longer than Nvidia 9800GX2

How do you figure?

The 9800 GX2 spreads each core to a different PCB.

This one has both on the same one. It must be a lot longer.

10" then?

That must be a small mouse.

It's not really that long, looking at my 2900XT now, it's pretty much level with the end of my motherboard (p5k Deluxe) the 3870X2 looks to be 2cm longer, and considering it's twice what a 2900XT is and all on one PCB (glares at 9800GX2 :p), I'd say that's a pretty good accomplishment!

$400-$500 range. I'm guessing we'll see it at the egg for $599.

I wonder where is the center of gravity for that card:p

any1 remember leaked info going arround on the net about the 2900 before it was out, looks just like tho pictures! maybe the pictures were real and we were seeing 1years pre release

My friend has two HD 3870's, if he gets this will it be compatible?

damn - you could land a friggin F-22 Raptor on that thing!!! :twitch:

Check it out, y'all - the new ATI CVN 3870x2. Design principle: to be long enough to launch tactical air strikes against opposing nVidia powered systems.

Now we see what AMD is up to

Talk about epenis envy:eek::D:respect:

I read that it was being showed on Call of Duty 4, at 2560 x 1600 maxed, and had very playable framerates.

Also, anyone notice the Freezer7???:O....Looks like AMD was using a Intel cpu...wowzers

That looks like one of those spam emails I get 5x a day...

take herbal concoction to double the size of your GPU.

Holly crap! DO they really?

I would rather use Barcelona instead of C2Q

Yea...Hahaha...Look at the pic of it in the computer, it clearly has a 7 on the AC Freezer:eek:

Yes, according to fud, it was an x48 MB with a QX9770 CPU.

Edit: for those who havent seen it yet Heres the link (thanks to sladesurfer):)

well - if what someone else pointed out is right - that the 3rd pic is of a VM build, then VM would chose as they wish for the CPU in the testbed rig. It only means that AMD sent VM either a 'loaner' or a 'demo' version of the card. Considering how VelocityMicro is pretty thorough with their setups, I doubt AMD would've thought to specify an AMD CPU for the PR, as the CPU isn't what's supposed to be catching people's attention.

In the vid that SpookyWillow linked to, though, as best I can tell, it looks like an all AMD rig. Quite possibly, even being demoed on an AMD Spider rig.
