Blizard Entertainment has released new artwork and screenshots from the StarCraft 2 RTS game for your viewing pleasure. Blizzard also unveiled a "new" terrain unit, the Cucio Siege Tank. You can find more information about the armored vehicle here. I'll upload just a few screenshots in the news body, just to give you an idea, while the full list can be viewed on Blizzard's StarCraft 2 web page.

It looks good, but with no release date I am not holding my breath.
Remember what happened to Starcraft: Ghost (if you ever heard of it).
It got scrapped after years of production and it did look pretty good too.

think it will work on GMA950? my friends only have laptops

looking good!:rockout:
can't wait for it, sc1 has gotten a little old...

I hope they don't screw it up any more than they already have.

lol @ Random Murderer's avatar

sheesh release this thing already :P im tired of waiting. hope the mineral differences dont become a issue in this game and make it like wc3 how ppl rush to level their heroes with those minions and sc2 ppl rush to expand to those bases.

Well Unreal III look good too, but look at the actual release... ;) I would wait till the actual game before draw any conclusion...

when this game came out back in the day, it dominated

And the last patch wasn't all that long ago. Blizzard has been supporting it this whole time.

Is this game running in DX8.0?

This better not be the final build.

It is the final build, it's those "epic" blizzard graphics for you.

Well, I haven't been around in the beginning when the game was released, so I don't know how it looked or if there were any patches that enhanced visuals. But when the install prompt comes up from loading up the cd, it has an option to install DirectX 5

Heres the idea behind not making the graphic revolutionary. The game is played professionally in other countries such as Korea. They do not want to make it a game in which a high end gaming computer in required. So they kept the requirements low, thus hopefully keeping the star craft community alive.

They have done the same thing with World of Warcraft. I'm sure Blizzard had the ability to make that game look 2x better than how they released it. Its called strategy, they could care less about graphical gaming freaks and care more about pure gaming freaks.

Gameplay is so much more important than graphics, and Blizzard always balances it perfectly. The games look well enough, and complimented by amazing gameplay. How many visually stunning games have you played that were just awful? And thus uninstalled minutes later. Conversely, how many older games do you still play over and over because the gameplay is just that good? I played a few WC3 custom games the other day, my friend still insists on playing Counter Strike 1.6, he doesn't like source even with the improved graphics (I don't notice the difference but he does). I played both Fallout 1 and 2 a couple months ago after reading an article about Fallout 3.

I like 'em, like a very clean Starcraft 1 look :)

What about amazing graphics and amazing gameplay? It's not like they haven't had enough time...

good enough gfx are there
it will have a amazing gameplay if it's like the 1st starcraft

This has to be the most anticipated pc release along with duke for ages. The only difference is this one will be released this century.

where's all the zergling hordes!!!!

was my absolute favorite tactic in SC1 - amass near about 140 zerglings and swarm your enemy. Aside from how quickly zerglings could bring buildings down - usually the confusion of so many attacking forces would throw an opponent off as they went into panic mode to try and get things under control. Hell, you don't even have to comander the swarm - just let 'em go . . .

meanwhile - get another horde brewing for the kill (if need be) :D

I played a guy once that had the most amazing terran strategy I had ever seen. I thought I was good at the zerg rush! This guy positioned his buildings so perfectly that the zerglings had to run between them in single columns. His bunkers just picked them off one at a time while SCVs repaired the buildings.

I was pwned... over and over again. :respect:

I hope they release the system requirements sometime soon as I would like to know when I need to get a new computer :)
