This could well be the most overpriced expensive commercial computer ever to be launched: the Zeus Jupiter. The computer's case is made of solid platinum embedded with diamonds which have been arranged to mimic astrological constellations. However, given that the PC has a price tag of ¥80,000,000 (just over $750,000) you'll be disappointed to hear that it's powered by a 3GHz Intel E6850 CPU, 2GB 667MHz DDR2 RAM, a 1TB hard drive, a dual Blu-ray/HD DVD drive and a 256MB GeForce 8400GS. Yes, that's one of NVIDIA's entry level graphics cards. Of course, if that's just out of your price range you could always go for Jupiter's little brother Mars, which has the same specs but with gold instead of platinum. That sells for a mere ¥60,000,000, which is just under $565,000.

this is like that 10,000 dollar dessert with gold flakes in it. Interesting story though... wow.

Wow you'd think you'd get better hardware...buy a dell or an emachine and throw some diamonds on it, bam same thing but cheaper.

what a waste of money , seriously !!!!

and also a very non creative idea , i hope there are no true millionare geeks out there who like to bling their pc's in this fashion.

Naw, this is something paris hilton or britney spears would buy.

WHAT! Are there no CD/DVD Rom Drives!!

I would buy it just for the case and then custemize it....

It can play HD DVD and Blu-ray. I'll add that to the original story though.

Yes, that appears to be the target consumer that company is looking for...too much money or too much of their parents money,:wtf: no hardware knowledge at all(entry level cards?? LOL):shadedshu basically rich doofusses that don't know any better but just HAVE to by something, anything! Kobe Bryant will probably buy this for his ol' lady the next time he get caught effing around on her!! This machine is doomed to be bought, where it will then serve out the rest of it's useless existence collecting dust on a shelf next to the crystal eggs and figurines:twitch:

The sad thing about those Pc's is they will actually sell some of them, even for a billionaire that is an unjustifiable price for components (minus the case) that would struggle to cost 100th of the total price.

Just out of curiousity how big are those diamonds?
I bet that is why it is so expensive besides the platinum.

What a waste though for just those components.
You could prob. build that machine (hardware only), for prob. $500 lol.

seriously though, even if I was a billionaire I still would not buy this, I would make the sickest rig, and whats the max you could spend on the best rig, 5-6-7-8-9-10 grand, that is probably too much. and donate rest of the money to aids foundation or something and have someone monitor it. I would rather spend money on a good cause than spend it on some stupid diamonds stuck in a PC case.

How much is too much!?!
Well... this might be IT!
And people think the 8800 Ultra or a QX9770 is expensive.... :P

:shadedshu

The phrase "There's a sucker born every minute" comes to mind . . .

if you sprinkle gold on a turd it is still a turd

How many ppl that can actually afford that thing really know as much about computers as we do? (minus Jobs and Gates =/)
that thing is no different then a Dell but for rich ppl

Chinese Junk!

It looks like jelly and even on the inside it tastes bad.

You can probably build 1000 PCs with those same specs for $750,000..

Jimmy, you need to correct the prices in Yen. The prices on those PCs are ¥80,000,000 (not ¥80,000) and ¥60,000,000 (not ¥60,0000).

that 1TB drive is probably ide lol.
