It seems just about every company wants to jump on the subnotebook bandwagon nowadays, with MSI being the most recent addition to the list. The Wind Laptop will feature a 10" display, an Intel Shelton CPU with speeds ranging from 1.0GHz to 1.6GHz, a 2.5" HDD or SSD, 1GB RAM and a seven hour battery life, with either Linux or Windows as an OS. There is no information about when this is likely to become available, but prices are expected to be between €299 ($458) and €699 ($1072) depending on which model you go for.

The "7 hour battery life" would make it a much more attractive option than all the other ultra portable laptops.

look at how it looks almost like a mac book... this is competing with the macbook air.. but doesn't look as good.. but the linux is definently a +.. linux is really rising in popularity!!!

Yes it is. Of course, it dont hurt when Dell and other mainstream pc makers are offering it.

"I had an apple, now I've got the wind!" LOL. Sorry ;)

MSI already makes laptops before so this should be good :D

hopefully much better than the ECS

Same with me i would of said the Eee but now im not sure new ones coming every day just about.

Availability

Hi,

I talked there at the Cebit with the MSI, and they told me, that after the Computex, they're gonna "release the Wind" across the World - so, it's the beginning of this summer. The price I got was "somewhere below 399 Euro". Looking forward.
