dont know why cheapos cannot look good? does it rly cost much to make em look almost same as all other nice looking laptops? Or does it go like if it is cheap it looks like one? I think thats the way it goes in markets ..:shadedshu

who is the the target buyer of these ?

Business executives and five year olds :)

mac users?

Hey hey hey... no Mac bashing, alright?
Quit it.
It's over now.
Seriously, damned Mac bashers, just use one, objectively, and then try bashing them. If you can't find something nice to say about it, you haven't used it for long enough.

Plus, if that survey was true, that Mac users are style conscious, then that's the dumbest marketplace to target. If you want to make UMPCs for Mac users, talk to Apple, don't go directly to the consumer.

Yeah it is fugly, but it's likely made of recyclable, or bio-degradable materials, or something. That doesn't stop them from making a good looking laptop, but it does mean the materials won't be too nice, usually.
The market is basically the environmentally friendly human, and maybe anyone that can live with the shame of being stuck with such an ugly laptop, when the EeePC is readily available, has similar specs, and probably has just as long a battery life, or possibly similar.
Well, this is just a platform, but I must say, if they hope to sell me one, they'd have to swap the Ctrl and Fn keys around, otherwise I'd just rip the Fn key out myself and throw it at the salesman.

Lulz, very nice PVTCaboose. Well thought out too.

So basically, this mac fanboy is saying that if you use a mac for long enough, eventually you'll find something good about it.
