ASUS Eee PC 4G Windows XP Available on April 9th via Best Buy

According to ASUS, the first batch of Eee PC 4G with Windows XP will be hitting the U.S. retail market in the first half of April. The 7-inch screen laptop will be available at Best Buy for $399 starting April 9th. The hardware of the system will remain exactly the same as the first generation Linux Eee PCs. It will include the above mentioned 7-inch wide screen with 800x480 resolution, Intel CPU, Chipset and video, 512MB DDR2 memory, 4GB SSD disk, Windows XP Home preloaded, 1x LAN, 3x USB ports, memory card reader, integrated camera and 4400mAh battery for up to 2.8 hours of life.

i wonder if you can take out said SSD and make it work in a PC would be intresting......at which pint i may just re enable my page file :)

Hmm, They have some for $50 bucks more from Toshiba with 1gb DDr2 Pentium Dual Core Processor and 120 gb hdd :D

Indeed. :( They'd have to vLite the hell out of Vista to make it work on the Eee PC. At least, until a better hardware version of the notebook arrives (Intel Atom-based?)...

also i don;t think i would even want to run XP on this... i would still tweak the hell out of it

I've seen afew other asus notebooks at best buy in the past. And I'm sure that the Eee PC will only be available at some stores.
