These seem to get praising, stable and fast and work in lots of games. 3DMark score & game FPS boost. Seems I have to try them my self too, still with the 169.25. Don't know if the nvidia page version works with all GPUs, but have already ones that do.

"1. WiC, F.e.a.r, Hitman = 5fps
2. HalfLife 2 and source games, S.t.a.l.k.e.r = 4fps
3. Crysis, Cod4, Jericho, Call of Juarez, Boiling Point= 3fps
4. Quake4 and Doom3 = 2fps
5. 3Dmark06 = 3 loops resulted in a score of 10731
the previous drivers 169.21 score was 10487) so an increase of around 200+ points which is healthy."

these drivers actually add/fix a lot of things, with the only issues i've seen from users on XPSP3. that was with the beta, but Nv often have betas turn into WHQL with no actual changes.

I look forward to giving them a shot with my new, shiny Palit 9600GT Sonic when it shows up! Can't wait to see how much my gaming improves in comparison to my 1950!

:toast:

Damn. They don't support 8800GT. Dammit NV, give me new drivers!!!

Damn. They don't support 8800GT. Dammit NV, give me new drivers!!!

The release notes say that the driver added support for the 9800, 9600, 8300, 8200, 8100...

English isn't my native language but wouldn't 'added' mean that support for the other cards (ex 8800 series) had already been there?

I've seen people on the xtreme-g forums use the 174.xx drivers on 8800GT.

They wont install on my g80 either, though the beta version will

i'm still on the beta, so i havent tried this.

Odd that they arent working on the 88;s, as this is a good driver...

  • WHQL certified driver for the following GPUs:
    [*]GeForce 9800 GX2
    [*]GeForce 9800 GTX
    [*]GeForce 9600 GT
    [*]GeForce 8300
    [*]GeForce 8200
    [*]GeForce 8100/NVIDIA nForce 720a
    [*]NVIDIA nForce 730a

That means nVidia only submitted this for WHQL testing on those GPUs. Which is why those are the only GPUs supported by the WHQL version. This driver is identical to the Beta version, it is just WHQL certified for those GPUs.

Who knows how to mod drivers for the other cards to be supported?

I do.

go to laptop2go or wherever it is, and grab the modded inf from there.

its easy to mod the inf file, take a driver that works, copy all the info below

; NVIDIA Windows AMD64 Display INF file

Signature = "$Windows NT$"
Provider = %NVIDIA%

DriverVer = 02/19/2008, 6.14.11.7416
paist it over the same info on the driver you want support for, and BAM fixed, its not hard, infact its preatty much cake compared to back in the day when we/i had to manualy combine 3-4 rage128 drivers to get 1 good driver for both ogl and d3d as well as videoplayback
