S3 Chrome is great technology wasted. I think apart from discrete graphics cards, they should incorporate this GPU into a motherboard chipset. AMD did just that (entry-level GPU into a chipset) and ended up making an extremely powerful IGP in the AMD 780G. Some evaluators found the AMD 780G to cross 2000 3DMarks in 3DM'06. If only VIA could roll out a AM2+ supportive chipset with either this or the older Chrome 400 incorporated, it could go head on against AMD 780G. Intel still doesn't have an integrated solution that comes even close to 780G.

They actually deliver extremely good products for what their purpose is. Their cards run extremely cool and use practically no power.

Even something like ASUS Maximus Forumla has a pinch of VIA in it, the Firewire controller.

How so, S3 has been quite bad with drivers overall. They haven't bothered with the high end market in many years. What makes you think they can suddenly do it right?

You havent by any chance gotten multichrome to work have you? Im running a 790FX board and picked a pair of these up to play with, and even with the digicool drivers (243 release), I cant seem to get these cards to work in Multichrome. In GPU-Z under multichrome its stating unknown, both cards are installed and i get clock speed and temp readings off both, so Im not sure what the issue is. Just curious if youve had any luck?
