Chinese website XFastest released some pre-release synthetic benchmark evaluations of the upcoming NVIDIA G96 graphics processor (GPU) on which is based, the GeForce 9500 series, slated for a July 28 release. XFastest also released detailed pictures of the components that go into making these cards.

The GeForce 9500 secured a score of 5894 in 3DMark'06 and 12331 in 3DMark'05 in default settings. It secured 658 o3DMarks at 1280x1024 resolution in the Ozone3D FurMark 1.40.

Here's a close-up of the G96 GPU:

:twitch::twitch::twitch::twitch: wow, thats gotta be the best entry level card performance I've ever seen. in fact that rivals the 8600gts performance. nice.

Ha, my 8600 pwns this little piece.

Someone might like it if was passively cooled. My laptop benches harder than that card!

This card better be really cheap or it won't be worth buying.

That's entry level  They've really out done themsevles this time.

Very nice entry level. If they keep the price under $100 they will have a winner on their hands. Performance should sit between a 8600GT and 8600GTS since it is almost and exact shrink of the G84 with clock speeds in between those two. However, these should overclock like crazy thanks to the 55nm.

it out preforms the 8600GT but not GTS, for this to work it has to launch under 8600GTS MSRP which sells at 100 right now

well considering you can get a 9600gso for 80$ it'll actually have to come in below that. which a true entry level should hover around 50$.

Looks JUST LIKE a 8600GT, except with more compact phase components lol. Hmm.... 3 phases in total, this card might be easily pencil modded and overclocked without any cooling upgrades to the phases :D

EDIT: Might just be a dieshrunken 8600GT?

\ It secured 658 o3DMarks \

typo?

Card looks pretty good. Its a budget model that seems like it'll be good for media and light/mid gaming.

looks like it gets about the same in some of the benches that my voltmoded 7900GS got

it should an 8600GT and 7900GS where dead even at the end of the day while the 8600GTS and 7800GTX/7900GT went toe to toe

my 7900GS @715/1200 was faster then some 7900GTX but i couldn't keep it stable had to back down to 710/1000

nice performance, I have an 8600 GT, this card is better than mine :(
p.s.: I interest about this xp theme, anyone know that name or something about it?

the core is 10mhz faster than an 800GT, Shader is 195mhz faster, and the mem is 100mhz (200mhz DDR) faster.

But it looses to the 8600GTS

8600GTS has 125mhz Coreclock, 75mhz Shader, and 200(400mhz DDR) Lead over this.

Id say get the 8600GTS over this to anyone honestly. Specs meet that for config of the G84

This is probably a $60 card, and for that, it's great. Not that I'd touch one with a 10 foot pole.

Close to my 8600gts.

Hopefully, it will be priced at the same level as the 8600GT and it should overclock better than the 8600GTS, assuming the memory is capable.

it was at stock clocks, and from experience of owning a 8600 myself i wouldnt say pwns, my gts scored about that at stock and around 7000 overclocked, this might clock better than your 8600 and then it will pwn you

price needs to be low if its dubbed at "entry level" but just judging by benches this should cope with most games pretty well :toast:

if they price it same as 8800GT it wont sell

I'm content with my 8600gts ty.
At least they've realized "entry-level" cards shouldnt include POS cards equivalent to integrated stuff..

they havnt.

Nforce IGP was the equivilant of the Geforce 2MX100 which was discontinued. Nforce2 IGP was Geforce2 MX400 speed though could be called the MX410 lol. The 6150 was equivilant to the Geforce 5200, the 7050 is about as fast as the 6200TC maybe. This means the IGPs tend to tie older gen graphics options.

saw a 9500gt at staples. priced at 100$ so based on the inflated prices of staples, it'll prolly end up int he 60$ range on e-tailers sites. It's really odd that it ended up on shelves before sites. lol
