Lian-Li Industrial Co. Ltd will launch the PC-XB01 chassis for the Xbox 360 today. The XB01 is a chassis replacement for the XBox 360 chassis, which alleviates heating issues from hot components and reduces noise from vibrating optical drives in the original case design. The PC-XB01 requires DIY knowledge for the transfer of components, but once completed, heat will no longer be a factor in dampening your XBox 360 gaming experience.

Lian Li is an executive upper-class aluminum PC chassis manufacturer, well renowned as the ultimate brand for modding and stylish designs. Those same attributes are incorporated in the PC-XB01. Including an all-aluminum black hair-line brushed anodized chassis. The case has the traditional filed edges to reduce sharp corners, as well as folded and handcrafted aspects synonymous with Lian Li's superior quality and high safety standards.

The PC-XB01 is 160 x 250 x 415mm (W, D, H), giving lots of space for copious cool airflow. The 120mm (1500RPM) rear fan draws off the heat from inside the case effectively and silently, while the ODD region is encased in stylized foam to reduce noise experienced from spinning disks in standard units.

All the Xbox 360 ports are hidden behind stylish dust covers and the ODD bay also has a spring loaded dust cover for aesthetic appeal and convenience. The unit can be placed horizontally, or vertically, depending on your needs, and the water cooling pipe holes are an option to use should you be inclined to do so. The case is designed to fit the entire Xbox 360 internals similar to the original, with the power transformer attaching from the outside.

The Lian Li PC-XB01 is the perfect complement to the Xbox 360 to alleviate heating issues. The stylish exterior gives your product a sense of class and will fit in with almost any living room environment. Microsoft Inc is very strict on warranties, so it should be noted that you will not be able to return your product if you use the Lian Li PC-XB01 alternative. With that being said, you are less likely to have overheating.

well i cant say its a bad idea. a nice lian li would certainly make your xbox stand out

I like how it has ports for water cooling. :D

I wish it wasnt so big though. i think I'll stick to my plan of getting a Jasper Elite.

The other thing I have noticed is that Lian Li provide you with an adaptor for two fans. Presumably so you can install an intake fan? Unless its for hooking up a dual rad..?

I'm not going to get this case because of a simple reason: it is very large compared to the stock unit, yet they didn't allow for internalizing the PSU, or have a 2nd 5.25" bay for the HD DVD rom drive. What an oversight.

There is an adaptor for two fans because the HDMI console has a different plug for the exhaust fans than the non-HDMI console, alexp.

yeah but check this out from their site:

It allows two fans to be connected to one socket. And the fan that comes with it only uses one fan. So only thing I could think this was for was either another intake fan, or a dual fan rad.

I don't really know why chassis are made for Xbox 360s. Its not like as if a n00b console player is going to overclock it lol. I rather buy those $25 intercoolers from Best Buy.

Very large, yes, but it kind of has to be to achieve the cooling they wanted.

There wouldn't be an easy way to internalize the PSU, since the connector is directly soldered onto the motherboard at the same point as the other connectors, it would be a very difficult task. The only way to do it, and make it look clean, would be to move the motherboard towards the front of the case, and make extenders for all the other ports to make them reach the back of the case, then put the PSU inside the case, and connect it to the motherboard internally. All of this would add cost, and increase the size of the already large chassis. Personally, I don't have a problem with the Xbox360's power brick, it tucks away behind my entertainment system just fine.

And no one cares about the HD-DVD drive, HD-DVD is dead.

Well there go the warranty ^____~

if my console ran out of warrenty id defo try this baby out! :rockout:

still people who have money to blow could get this

makes it look rather good

Mine already is out and it was the second or third batch where the cooling and RROD was supposed to be improved or eliminated. I Still get it every now and then. Ill definitely pick up this case if its 80 bucks. Get the 300 water cooler and go to town!
