Roccat's new "Krone" mouse will retail for around € 69 and offers a lot of interesting features. One of them is the ability for the mouse software to detect which weight you inserted in the bottom of the mouse. Also planned are extensions like a vibration module.

The Roccat "Kave" is a surround sound headset that uses three speakers in each earpiece to give you the true surround experience. The microphone is detachable and a saperate control unit is included as well. For easy transportation to and from LAN parties you can fold the whole headset into a little bag. The retail price is expected to be around € 90.

All these mouses are just copies of the G7 / G5 from Logitech.

I dunno, the rumble feature might be kinda nice. As for the software sensing the weight, whats the point? Does it change the way the mouse behaves?

dude that rumble feature would be annoying to me. Especially if i was trying to snipe someone and all of the sudden my mouse rumble and i miss.

I expect the idea is not to have it rumble just randomly :]

haha i know that but im saying in a game like cod4 you could be trying to snipe someone and get shot or a grenade might go off and then it would rumble. but thats just a for instance im sure in some games it would be a nice feature.

im happy with my G5 works great.

that headset looks kickass tho.

Its called ' Kone '. Its the Roccat Kone! not Krone . . .
Ive been a proud owner of the Roccat Kone for over a year now, and its a fantastic mouse. The Rumble feature needs some major tweaking because like jbunch07 mentioned and explained, it can be annoying. Please note that it has its advantages aswell. The buttons and colours are great, same as the weight and height detection ( i like to lift my hand with mouse in hand off the pad and reset my position ). <--< JC316 does that answer your question about the weight relevance and sensing ?

I like my Razer Copperhead and Lachesis, but this was a good mouse to add to the collection. As for the Logitech range, i doubt i will ever go back to them for a mouse. Ill stick to their G25's.

about Freaking Time

Looks very good, the rumble feature is not the deal...

I once had a gamepad with rumble stored on a shelf underneath the mousepad on my desk and I played some UT2004 and it started to rumble and it was a rather nice effect, I could feel it but it didn't bother the movement of the mouse or anything, perhaps an idea for a cheap rumble mouse? clamp a rumble-gamepad underneath your desk where the mousepad is.
Unfortunately the rumble feature is often not used in games though :[
I wish more games did.

the rumble could be like a nice vibrating massage for your right (or left) hand :D

ya that would be nice, but i say its a step above the Logitech Mouse in the button dept (thx to the tilt wheel it has more options than the MX510 and 518 Now which those 2 have more options than the G3 G5 G7 G9)

i like mouse with buttons it is very useful in games

except for games that have anticheat protection (Combat ARMs) i cant use Mouse Keys to assign functions to the mouse.

Actually, with a sound card you should be able to force all sounds beneath a certain frequency to be translated into forcefeedback. I have a butt-kicker on my playseat and i think it goes hand in hand with the logitech G25. As for first person shooters, im not a rumble person and find the buttkicker to be annoying in Multiplayer. Dont get me wrong, Single Player games should be played with as much gadgets as possible :)
