best pc first shooter

hey guys, i am looking to buy a new computer game but i cant find any i like. can someone please tell me some of there favorite first person shooter games. (with online action).

Battlefield 2 series and UT3 are my favs at the moment combat arms and painkiller are also good even though i havnt played either for awhile.

cod4 for multiplayer fps, nothing is better IMHO

NOLF2 (too dated now), stalker, far cry, far cry 2 for sp
Brothers in Arms and Sniper Elite are near misses. If they had been properly coded PC games and not console ports, they would have been really good. As it is, they fail.

Armed Assault (AA 2 due early next year), I find others typical TvT, PvP. Feel like the same thing over and over and require replacing each year.

But it depends on what you like though.. Best FPS was Ghost Recon getting on now lol..

COD4 is the best online fps at the moment imo. It also has a great single player campaign, although a bit short, so you won't be disappointed by that either. Team Fortress 2 is also great if you like the graphics. Battlefield 2 is a great game though it's poorly coded. I couldn't get over the bugs and play the beta tester role anymore so I got rid of it. Maybe after thousands of patches it's ok now, I don't know...

I would have to give TF2 the honors of best Online fps. I have had far more fun with it then COD 4. Both are brilliant games.

I would say get the orange box, that will keep you busy for a while.

WHAT!? only one person said CSS?....that'a a pure shame :shadedshu, even though that games is old[ish] still kick ass, that's how i learned all of my skill which helped me a lot trough other good FPS I.E. battefield series, CoD series, crysis and so on.

-I say play CSS until you get so good that ppl start calling you a H4x0r and then move on to others .

+1 CSS is the only game I still play, usually daily.

BF2 imo is unrivalled.

COD4 is very decent also.

Offline then I would recommend either Crysis (but only if u have a very up to date PC) or FEAR.

I would love to play some old school Rainbow six, Rainbow Six: Eagle Watch ,Rogue Spear,Urban operations, Raven Shield.

The first RB6 and Eagle Watch were the first online shooters I played.
