Nothing.

I don't care why or how I am here. It matters more if this world goes on when I end. If it does, I want to be remembered kindly. This about sums it up for me:

If you told me the world ends when I end, then, it changes some things maybe...

That's the thing though, in those cases the world you're in doesn't exist in the way that it feels like it does. It's no different from a video game world. Nothing that happens has material consequence. No telling if you even have agency at all, save for the fact that you experience a sense of it.

Don't give a crap. The material consequence never mattered to me. If the world goes on when I die, that is all that matters to me. Leave the world better than you left it. What/why the world is matters not. It could be a video game. I still care about this video game.

I'd choose the same, but it's more a question of how you define yourself (or if that definition means anything) than of the proceeding choices. Different justifications, depending on one's morals. But they're all simply justifications. I like the existentialist angle of "It may as well be real to you." in that it acknowledges the meaninglessness while leaving room for a defined self and purpose within that.

Personally I relish in the idea that life is both as meaningful and inconsequential as it can be. I like the idea that my existential footprint will inevitably vanish from causality, if it was ever there to begin with. Perhaps to exist is to simply be "forgettable." I won't be able to care how people remember me when I'm dead. All I know of is what I perceive while I'm alive. That's what counts for me.

It really simplifies things because the only reasonable task left is to make choices that I can be happy with in this life. No pressure, use your mind, but follow your heart. Something like that.

Something happen too you that now has you questioning if you’re in a artificially created reality?
