Your 650 watt should handle your system with a 5850 just fine. Why were you even interested in the 1Kw? Your PSU is good quality.

BTW cases that have the PSU positioned at the bottom requires the PSU to always be upside down. So if your PSU has a fan on the bottom it will be pointing up in those cases so airflow will not be a problem.
