1 HDMI out, monitor and sound..how?

Hello I'm running a 4850 which only has 1 HDMI output.

I've just bought a new receiver which supports HDMI and I'm about to buy a new 24" Monitor which also supports HDMI.

With only 1 HDMI out on the 4850 how do I go about connecting up both the monitor and audio to my receiver. Why isn't there two HDMI out on the 4850?

*Actually if you're using an Auzentech Forte, skip using the HDMI for audio and connect the sound card to the reciever.

Thanks.

So it will be the video card to the receiver. Receiver to the monitor.

Then the receiver will process both the audio and images from the video card makes sense

The 4850 doesnt have any analogue outputs, so how do I connect my microphone on my headset. Is there any way to connect the 4850 to the front pannel audio at the front of my case?

Trying to figure out how front pannel audio works with the 4850 :S

video card to monitor via DVI

video card to receiver via HDMI

headset to on-board and change the output properties when you want to use it

Got a bit of a problem.

I've got two 4850s in crossfire.

I have my main 4850 connected to my monitor via DVI, but as soon as I connect HDMI input tomy Onkyo receiver for audio, rebooting itself in a loop. When I disable crossfire in the ATI's drivers everything is fine.

I've installed the latest drivers and I get the same result. Whats going on??

I just created a new thread in the Audio, Video & Home Theater section.

My speakers are old, Kef Crestas only thing new is I switched receiver from my old Pioneer VSX-516-S to Onkyo TX-SR309. Still learning how to use it. Until I get this audio business sorted with my 4850 I won't get the opportunity to appreciate it.

The Kef Cresta series is not old at all. speakers sound better as they age and the Cresta series was manufactured in the United Kingdom and Belgium not China

This is true, to a degree. Most speakers have a break in period (can vary... sometimes like 80 hours)
