Well like i said before if he just wants gaming performance and doesn't play games that are "too" new, then yes a 1950** and a psu would be a good way to go.

for an increase in gaming performance over a 1950pro, he'd need a new mobo and everything, and we're on a budget, cant forget that.

An X1950pro can run Crysis decently. The Pentium dual core is a crappy chip but its not that bad.

At high resolutions games are still bottlenecked by the videocard.

hey guys i looked around at video cards today and i got a ATI x1650pro 512mb DDR2 AGP 8x card got it for 149.99, the X1950pro cost over 289.99 and it was to expensive.

and the nvidia 7600 or whatever card was also to expensive

Hey OSMAN, what you should is grab that 64 bit Vista for free and then sell it for a decent price, so you can afford more decent hardware.
