Razer, the world's leading manufacturer of high-end precision gaming and lifestyle peripherals, today announced the Razer Vespula, a lightweight, gaming grade mouse mat. The dual-sided design of the Razer Vespula provides gamers with the choice of a Speed Surface for faster mouse movements or a Control Surface that picks up even the most precise of mouse movements.

"The Razer Vespula was designed with gamers in mind that need a single solution for every game they play. Different genres call for different gameplays. The advanced technology in the improved dual-sided mouse mat gives gamers the choice of a smooth Speed Surface or a textured Control Surface, which delivers just that flexibility," said Robert "Razerguy" Krakoff, president, Razer USA. "The Control Surface is great for gamers that use small, precise movements, while the Speed Surface is an ideal match for gamers that prefer large, sweeping motions."

The Razer Vespula enables extended gaming sessions with a gel-filled memory conformance wrist rest for top performance without fatigue or potential strain and comes with the proven sturdiness and extra durability of its prequel the Razer eXact Mat.

About The Razer Vespula

Constructed with a matte, non-slip hard coat and an enhanced dual-sided design, the Razer Vespula provides gamers with the choice of a Speed Surface or a Control Surface. The Speed Surface is designed for smoother, fast-paced action that maximizes freedom of movement with a slick finish, while the Control Surface provides tactile feedback with a coarsely textured surface that is best for ultra-precise movements. The Razer Vespula also comes with a memory conformance wrist rest for long-lasting comfort, even during extended gameplay.

Product Features:
  • Matte, Non-slip Hard Coat
  • Advanced Dual-sided with a Speed Surface for faster mouse movements and a Control Surface for precise mouse movements

man that naming sounds really bad in my language, i'm betting no availability here only because of the name

u know $=/=EUR

That gel pad seems exactly as one with eXact mat.. maybe bit smaller, but not sure. Im using one right now (just pad, not eXact mat.. thats garbage).

Well, I hope for Razer sake, that it will be good.. their current products definetly are not.

Best current mainstream pads that come to my mind are ROCCAT Taito (flawless with laser) or Steelpad SX (and probably 9HD too). There are better, just not mainstream..

An ill fated subliminal attempt to lure female gamers?

An ill fated subliminal attempt to lure female gamers?

What kind of games is it for????? :O

Looks nice, but also overly large for my keyboard/mouse platform on my desk.

One dollar does not equal one euro. The dollar is worthless, Americans might as well trade with cornflakes soon, with the way they're headed. Fail pricing.

Roph, well. It's quite sad but true, almost all products here have the same price in euro than in US dollars in USA... Its about taxes and profits. And still the hardware stores have really low profit in %. I recall having a conversation with my old boss and he told about 10-20% profit in some products. The thing that keeps PC stores in business is service, and that is not cheap. 50€/hour.

Example:

XFX HD 5770 $165-190 in Newegg
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produ...PA=0&Order=BESTMATCH&Description=5770&x=0&y=0

XFX HD 5770 €163-170 in Jimm's PC Store (Finland)
http://www.vertailu.info/naytonohjaimet/?tuote=Xfx+ati+radeon+hd+5770

That is $227-237 according to RatesFX

So if I could by straight from Newegg, I would pay:

€118-136

Guys, this thread is about a mouse mat, not economics, please get back on topic.
