If you have a BD PROCHOT throttling problem, why is BD PROCHOT checked on the main ThrottleStop screen? That is what tells your computer to BD PROCHOT throttle. Is that what you want? I hope not. Clear the BD PROCHOT box.
Why is Disable Turbo checked? If your CPU runs too hot, lower the MSR PL1 and PL2 turbo power limits. The heatsink, even when the thermal paste is perfect, might not be enough to run an 11800H at full power and full speed. Consider reducing the power instead of reducing the speed. Post an updated log file when you get things dialed in.
Hello Unclewebb and thank you for the reply. I have PROCHOT box checked otherwise my laptop just turns off when hot. I use it as last resort to close what I have running (I uncked BD so the pc can run normally and then close the stuff opened.
yesterday I read about your other post here
https://www.techpowerup.com/forums/...ttling-cpu-lenovo-laptop.324701/#post-5292802 and I set PL1 and PL2 both to 25 and 30 W with 8 sec timer, but I got still throttle with PL1 alarm in log file so had to revert back. I guess 25 and 30 are wrong for this laptop?
Disable Turbo is checked so CPU doesnt go as fast so less heat (?).
I just hopped on pc, I will run some cpu stressing and post log file.
thanks again
one other thing to note is I set Balanced power plan in hope to not stress cpu and it worked just for 1 day. then everything the same as Max Performace.
( first image attached shows old TPL settings I tried but still not ideal)
log file ready
