Hi all

There was a recent review done on a 12700h laptop and it managed to score over 1000 points on the single core cpuz test.
My chip only scores 873 ?

Advice please :D

Run HWINFO64 and CPU-Z at the same time. Does the max efficient clock look OK? That would be my first steep, before anything else ;)

12900K is around 918.
No idea if it’s an average or what, but close to your value.

Was the 12700h laptop using ddr4 or ddr5?

2 GB (2x 16 GB) Samsung 4800 MHz DDR5
2x SO-DIMM slots (both occupied)

You mean 817 :D

Hi,
Memory matters.

lol ok thanks :D

seems this processor sux at default settings tho
like its auto vcore is going to around 1.4+ !!

Should I open a new thread for settings help ?

No this one is fine, I have edited the title slightly for you. You likely need to start with a list of your full system specs.

i did that already :D in my profile

Hi,
Just the silicon lottery kicking in
Many people wish they'd get good chips like the other guy has
It just doesn't work that way
Mother boards also vary in quality just like processors.

yes but the vcore works well when set fixed to 1.3 but the auto vcore goes wild

I wouldn't put much weight into a CPUz score honestly.

Hi,
Yes bad chips are power hungry still a result silicon lottery.

Post hwinfo64 screen shots using Sensors only option and agree to the warning

HWiNFO - Download

Laptops do some dirty tricks

Just because you have X CPU or GPU doesnt mean it's got the same cooling or wattage available as another laptop with the same parts

All you can do with a laptop is make sure its not overheating, have the OS and BIOS updated, make sure its plugged in with a genuine correct wattage charger and running on a correct power plan.

And probably debloat some garbage software that it shipped with, the CPU could literally be in use by something else like antivirus
