This may very well rival a highend sound card, and probably with better compatibility since it's most likely realtek based. Just wish it had swappable opamps.

As am I. I'd much rather just output audio over HDMI to a receiver anyways and let the receiver handle everything. I mean, chances are, if you care that much about audio, you're gonna have one anyways. If you're a high-end headphone user, you probably already have a dedicated DAC and dedicated headphone amp anyways.

I think it's just a gimmick.

Perhaps... but it may be the deciding factor for someone who cares only a little about audio.

I'm loving the PCIe layout and the coloring is decent. So if I was looking to build an 1155 system this board would probably make my list of canidates. A small nicity like upgraded audio may give it an edge over the others.
