Great idea! I'm am quite impressed at the overclocks you get, particularly on the memory (even with those tiny heatsinks).

I'm wondering if having water on the GPU takes enough stess off the card to allow the mem to clock higher? Did you reach those clocks before the WC? Is your vram Hynix or Samsung? Mine was Hynix before I RMA'd the first card, the replacement has the BJ11 flavor. (I don't find them to clock any different.) Also, do you find that when the vram is the failure point in an overclock that the reaction is a freeze/lock?

Sorry for all the questions, and a hearty thanks again to all who helped.

Cheers,

Bryan

p.s. I'm DLing 3DM05 right now and I'm about to lend a bit more gravitas to the ATI side!;)

mem is Hynix

and the clocks I got before on air where 749.25core/1044mem was during winter it was snowing

well I realy didnt get more oc on the core/mem :ohwell: but maybe I'll try this winter to see if I can get more oc dont feel like putting it in the freezer lol

and your asking when get freeze/lock is when the mem is oc to much ?? I think it is cuz sometimes I can bench it with the same speeds but then sometimes it would freeze/lock

oh yeah these are the ram hs there shorter but they cover more area
http://www.performance-pcs.com/catalog/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=43&products_id=3988

and well the wc did help cuz I can bench with the room temp in the 70's dont have to be freezing

Good stuff! You've got some nice ram chips there! I had a couple of runs where I had the mem to 972 but I don't remember what voltage I gave them. I'm sure ram responds differently but would you suggest finding the GPU OC max first or vram OC max? together?
To me, they seem to work together and I would think you would want to find the max for your vram first, then OC the GPU.

I'm done rambling, MODs close this thread if you like.

Regards,

Bryan
