That's some impressive figures, with support for XEON will they also support 128Gb ECC Ram?

Tis be the nature of HEDT my man. Mine's lasted me 4 years so far.

It will last couple more years, thats the beauty of HEDT. I was hoping for small revision to add in integrated usb 3.1 and support new thunderbolt3 standard. Right now sadly gigabyte has no X99 offerings with Usb 3.1 which are offered by both Asus and Msi.

I said screw it and got a card for when I'll ever need 3.1 gen 2. Right now I have nothing external that needs 10Gb/s USB ports.

Most of the X99 boards with 3.1 and thunderbolt support use an add on pci-e card anyway. If they don't use that it is burning PCI-e lanes on the motherboard anyway.

Why not? Gigabyte has already issued a BIOS update for 16GB RAM module support so I doubt MSI (and Asus for that matter) wouldn't do likewise.
